On November 10, our institute convened the 2023 Commission for Discipline Inspection (expanded) and disciplinary inspection cadre education and rectification study meeting in the seventh-floor conference room. The meeting was chaired by Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection.
The meeting implemented the “first‑topic” system and studied General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the Second Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, titled “Improving the System of Comprehensive and Strict Party Governance and Advancing the New Great Project of Party Building in the New Era.” The speech emphasized that treating party building as a great undertaking and steadfastly upholding the principles and policies of governing the Party with strict discipline is both a major innovation of our Party and a vital strategic asset for establishing the Party and the country and for strengthening the Party and the nation. The meeting called for making the effective implementation of comprehensive and strict Party governance within the Shandong Institute a defining theme for bolstering the Institute’s Party building in the new era, continuously refining and improving relevant systems in light of the Institute’s specific circumstances, and ensuring the ongoing deepening and development of the new great project of Party building within the Institute.
In accordance with the relevant arrangements outlined in the “Work Measures of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shandong Institute for Carrying Out Education and Rectification among Discipline Inspection Cadres,” attendees jointly studied excerpts from the “Selected Excerpts on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,” including the section titled “Improving Conduct Is an Ongoing Task.” They were urged to, in light of the Institute’s specific discipline inspection work, thoroughly study and deeply grasp the spirit and core tenets of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era—particularly its important expositions on improving conduct—in order to better fulfill their duties, serve the people, and advance their work. It was emphasized that efforts to address the “Four Undesirable Trends” and foster a new ethos must be pursued in tandem, with education and guidance aimed at encouraging Party members and cadres to deliver tangible results, devise practical measures, and seek real outcomes, thereby achieving new accomplishments through sound conduct and a positive image.
At the meeting, the “Detailed Rules for Supervisory Work of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau (Revised)” and the “Notice on Coordinating the 2023 Public Opinion Survey on the Comprehensive and Strict Governance of Central Enterprises” were also conveyed and studied. Participants were urged to maintain a high degree of political sensitivity and sense of responsibility in their work, adhere to their respective duties, emphasize political oversight, refine routine supervision, and earnestly fulfill their responsibilities for supervision, discipline enforcement, and accountability, thereby providing strong support for the smooth implementation of all tasks throughout the year at the Shandong Institute.
