Geological exploration
Employing geological scientific theories and leveraging a variety of effective geological exploration techniques and methodologies, we conduct robust geological research. Our core activities include the exploration of solid, liquid, and gaseous mineral resources; marine geology; drilling engineering; geophysical exploration; geochemical exploration; rock and mineral testing and analysis; engineering geological consulting; reserve estimation; as well as regional geological and mineral resource surveys and potential assessments.
Key Achievements
1. The Gulin–Lanling Iron Ore Exploration Project in Shandong Province is a deep‑buried mineral exploration initiative jointly undertaken by our institute and the Linyi Municipal Government. The project has delineated 15 iron ore bodies, with a maximum strike length of 5,900 meters and a maximum thickness of 17.32 meters. As of 2017, the cumulative identified (332 + 333) iron ore resources exceeded 700 million tons, classifying this deposit as a deeply buried, extra‑large sedimentary‑metamorphic iron ore deposit. The project has successively been awarded the China Geological Society’s Top Ten Geological Exploration Achievements, Shandong Province’s Top Ten Outstanding Geological Achievements, the First Prize of Shandong Province’s Land and Resources Science and Technology Award, and the Special Prize of the China National Coal Geology Administration for Scientific and Technological Innovation.
2. The iron‑ore reconnaissance project in the Dazhang area of Qihe County, Shandong Province, represents the first discovery of metallic mineralization in the region north of the Yellow River in western Shandong. The deposit is a deeply buried, contact‑metasomatic, high‑grade iron ore. To date, three drill holes have intersected ore, one has encountered mineralization, and one ore body has been delineated; its strike‑length control currently extends 507 m, with a TFe grade of 56% and an mFe grade of 52%. This deposit exhibits high grades, is easy to mine and beneficiate, and possesses significant resource potential and industrial value. In 2016, under the close attention of the Ministry of Land and Resources, the area was designated as a specially established national-level “Shandong Qihe–Yucheng High‑Grade Iron Ore Integrated Exploration Zone,” with our institute undertaking follow‑up work.
