Tightening the “Safety String” and Safeguarding the “Integrity Gate”—Our Institute Conducts the First Safety Lesson and the First Integrity Lesson Upon Commencement of Work

On February 12, our institute organized the “First Lesson on Workplace Safety and Integrity” to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on work safety, as well as the spirit of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Administration of Work Safety’s conference on building a sound Party conduct and clean governance and combating corruption. This initiative further strengthened the sense of safety and integrity among all cadres and employees, laying a solid ideological foundation for the year ahead.
Comrade Jiao Sen, a member of the Party Committee of the Bureau (Group) and Chief Engineer, who oversees the Party and administrative affairs of the Shandong Institute, delivered a comprehensive safety‑training session titled “The First Lesson on Workplace Safety at the Start of Work” to all cadres and employees. During the meeting, Comrade Jiao Sen provided an in-depth exposition on four key aspects: the importance of post‑holiday safety training; the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on workplace safety; specific requirements for pre‑resumption safety measures; and safety protocols during on‑site construction. The lecture was rich and thorough, integrating policy interpretation, ideological mobilization, cautionary education, and safety deployment, thereby sounding a clear warning about workplace safety and strengthening staff awareness of the need to prioritize and promote safety. The meeting called on all departments to act promptly, organize thorough study of the course materials as required, and conduct unified learning of the institute’s Safety and Environmental Protection Department’s comprehensive safety‑training documents. It also emphasized strict adherence to the principle of “no training, no resumption; no training, no work,” ensuring that every employee fully internalizes safety knowledge and develops a strong safety consciousness.
Pan Weicai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Institute, delivered the New Year’s “First Lesson on Integrity” to all cadres and employees, offering an in-depth exposition from three perspectives: integrity as a noble quality, the importance of self-discipline in maintaining integrity, and the practical requirements for upholding such discipline. The meeting emphasized that integrity is the very foundation of a Communist Party member’s character, an intrinsic requirement for advancing Party conduct and clean governance and for combating corruption, and the most basic moral standard for Party members and cadres. As Party members and employees of a state‑owned geological exploration institution, entrusted with the critical mission of safeguarding national mineral resource security and ecological environmental safety, they must remain ever vigilant, cultivate upright and incorruptible moral principles, maintain a rigorous work ethic, remain detached from fame and fortune, lead by example, consciously resist all temptations, and project a positive image of integrity and self‑discipline. All cadres and employees are called upon to firmly tighten the “master switch” of their ideals and convictions, strictly observe discipline and rules, hone their capabilities through concrete action, nurture their character with righteous conduct, and translate their commitment to integrity and self‑discipline into tangible deeds—ensuring that integrity becomes the shared hallmark of everyone at the Shandong Institute, and that a climate of integrity, uprightness, and dedication to work and entrepreneurship takes firm root throughout the Institute.
The meeting was chaired by Qiu Guanghui, a member of the Party Committee, Vice President, and Chief Safety Officer. More than 20 people, including院leaders, heads of various departments, members of the院Safety Committee, and members of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission, attended in person, while other employees participated online via DingTalk video livestream.
