Our institute won an award at the Shandong Province “Skills Revitalize Shandong” Vocational Skills Competition—Geological Surveyor (Geological Hazard Specialization) Skill Contest.
Recently, the 2025 “Skills Boost Shandong” Vocational Skills Competition—Geological Surveyor (Geological Hazard Specialization)—co-hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Shandong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, concluded. The event brought together 33 elite teams from across the province, who competed fiercely on the same stage.
Led by our institute’s chief engineer, Li Yinzhen, a competition team composed of three technical core members leveraged their solid professional expertise and outstanding on‑the‑spot performance. After fierce competition, both the individual and team scores ranked among the top, earning the team the “Outstanding Organization Award.”
This competition adopts a combined format of “theoretical examination plus practical skills,” emphasizing real-world application. From theoretical knowledge in geological hazard management to on-site landslide investigations and geological mapping, to the preparation of comprehensive research reports, the event’s structure closely mirrors frontline fieldwork, providing a thorough assessment of participants’ overall competencies. Prior to the contest, our institute engaged senior experts to deliver specialized training at hazard sites, conduct hands-on drills, and offer on-site guidance. During the competition, three of our institute’s technical leaders responded with composure, demonstrated proficient operational skills, and worked seamlessly as a team; their outstanding performance earned high praise from the on-site judges.
This competition showcased the solid professional expertise and proactive, enterprising spirit of our institute’s technical personnel in the field of geological hazard prevention and control, while honing their practical capabilities and achieving the goal of “promoting learning and training through competition.” Taking this opportunity, our institute will translate the outcomes of the competition into a powerful driving force for advancing our work, continuing to strengthen talent development and on-the-job training, and steadily elevating our technical standards in geological hazard prevention and control. In doing so, we will contribute the strength of a central state‑owned geological exploration enterprise to fortifying the province’s safety defenses against geological hazards and fully safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
