The iron ore reconnaissance project in the Dazhang area of Qihe County, Shandong Province (continuation) has passed its final acceptance and been rated as excellent.

On July 22, the Mineral Exploration Branch of our institute successfully passed the project acceptance review organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources for the “Iron Ore Prospecting in the Dazhang Area of Qihe County, Shandong Province (Continuation),” receiving an excellent rating with a score of 92.
This project was awarded to our institute through a tender process as a 2018 provincial‑level geological exploration project in Shandong Province. The principal fieldwork completed includes: 96 geoelectromagnetic sounding profiles (1 profile); two 1:2,000 gravity‑magnetic survey lines totaling 15.95 km; drilling a total of 3,108.03 m across three boreholes; three‑component logging for 3,100 m in three boreholes; and laboratory analysis of 35 samples.
Through a series of field and laboratory investigations—including gravity and magnetic profiling, magnetotelluric sounding, mechanical core drilling, three‑component borehole magnetic measurements, and comprehensive geochemical and mineralogical analyses—the present survey has broadly delineated the magnetic anomaly characteristics and geological features of the mining district. It has also conducted follow‑up exploration on the known No. I ore body, thereby establishing its distribution, dimensions, structural orientation, and spatial extent. Furthermore, the study has characterized the ore quality. In addition, exploratory drill holes were drilled to geologically verify the magnetic anomalies in the northern part of the Dazhang area and to assess the region’s iron‑ore metallogenic potential, providing a robust geological basis for subsequent exploration efforts in this area.
