Recently, the Hydrology and Environmental Branch of our institute successfully won bids for three geological exploration service projects: “Operation of the Ground Subsidence Monitoring System and Database Development in Jinan City,” “Investigation and Evaluation of Geothermal Resources in the Xiuhui Ancient City Area of Zhangqiu District, Jinan City,” and “Specialized Survey and Conservation Planning for Paleontological Fossils in Jinan City (2021–2030),” with a total contract value exceeding RMB 5.8 million.
In recent years, our institute has leveraged its key competitive industrial chains to achieve continuous breakthroughs in areas such as land subsidence monitoring, geothermal exploration, and paleontological fossil surveys, earning high acclaim. The recently awarded project, “Operation of the Jinan City Land Subsidence Monitoring System and Database Development,” marks the sixth time our institute has undertaken a land subsidence initiative in Jinan since 2015. This project aims to refine Jinan’s land subsidence monitoring network, thereby enhancing its capacity for prevention and control. The “Geothermal Resource Survey and Evaluation in the Xiuhui Ancient City Area of Zhangqiu District, Jinan” represents another significant advance in our institute’s geothermal resource exploration efforts in Zhangqiu, following previous surveys and assessments conducted in Pingyin’s Dasunzhuang and Meigui areas, as well as in the Tulou and Ningjiabu–Diaozhen regions. This project will help promote the development of the Xiuhui Ancient City and the local tourism industry. The “Specialized Survey and Conservation Plan for Paleontological Fossils in Jinan (2021–2030)” will ensure comprehensive, coordinated planning for the city’s paleontological fossil resources, strengthening their protection and sustainable utilization while elevating the overall management standards for their conservation.
Going forward, our institute will continue to leverage the vital role of geological work in supporting local ecological civilization development, putting into practice the development philosophy that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” and contributing our expertise and efforts to Jinan’s ecological progress and green development.
