In the crisp, refreshing autumn, the scent of ripening fruits fills the air. As the Double Ninth Festival approaches, in order to uphold the traditional Chinese virtues of respecting and caring for the elderly and to show concern for the later years of our retired colleagues, our institute hosted a Double Ninth Festival–themed celebration at the Tai’an base on October 21. More than thirty retired colleagues gathered together to joyfully mark this cherished occasion.
During the event, retired comrades spontaneously organized a variety of cultural performances—dance routines, solo songs, instrumental ensembles, and more—creating an exceptionally lively atmosphere and a strong festive spirit. In their own unique way, they showcased their distinguished demeanor, their optimistic and proactive outlook on life, and their vigorous, upward‑looking spirit. To conclude, the hospital’s leadership joined the retirees in singing “Ode to the Motherland,” expressing their boundless love for the motherland and heartfelt blessings, and bringing joy and good wishes to all retired staff on the occasion of the Double Ninth Festival. The scene was filled with warm, enthusiastic energy.
Before the event, Party Secretary Wang Qingfeng delivered a speech on site, extending festive greetings and best wishes to the retired veteran comrades on behalf of the institute’s leadership team. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their youthful dedication and tireless efforts in advancing the reform and development of Shandong Institute, particularly noting that even after retirement, they remain vigorous and continue to shine, enthusiastically following and actively participating in the institute’s various activities, and making outstanding contributions to epidemic prevention and control. In closing, he recited Chairman Mao’s poem “Cai Sang Zi: Double Ninth Festival,” urging everyone to remain leaders who uphold political principles and keep the bigger picture in mind, champions of reform and development, and guardians of harmony and stability.
