Deep affection, the Party flag is red.
To deepen the integration of Party building with production and operations, on March 16, our institute organized nearly 30 participants—including serving Party members, prospective Party members, and young League members—to visit the construction site of the “Zichuan District Closed Open-Pit Mine Geological Environment Remediation and Ecological Restoration Project,” which our institute is implementing. There, they carried out a volunteer tree-planting activity under the theme “Supporting Mine Restoration, Building a Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Together.” The event was jointly organized by the Third Party Branch and the First Party Branch, with the participation of Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Sun Xinyong, Vice President and head of the trade union.
At the event site, Party members and young volunteers were highly enthusiastic, working collaboratively: they wielded shovels to dig and mound soil, carefully planted seedlings, built embankments, and watered them, meticulously ensuring each sapling was set in place—sowing hope for a landscape lush with greenery. Amidst the busy tree‑planting, participants also took time to share stories about their work and lives, listened as on‑site experts explained principles of geological environment management and ecological restoration, proudly highlighted the achievements, future prospects, and far‑reaching significance of the restoration projects they were helping to implement, and exchanged amusing anecdotes from their field experiences. The atmosphere was both bustling and fulfilling. Following the planting, a friendly tug‑of‑war match was organized on the spot, further enriching the program and strengthening team cohesion.
This volunteer tree-planting event served both as a service activity for Party members, Youth League members, and young people, and as a themed Party‑Day and Youth‑League‑Day event that proactively integrated Party and Youth League building into production and operations. A broad contingent of Party members and Youth League members took the lead in going to the front lines of ecological restoration projects, actively putting into practice General Secretary Xi Jinping’s vision that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” They gained firsthand experience of our institute’s exemplary transformation‑and‑upgrading initiatives, deepened their understanding of on‑the‑ground work, and strengthened communication and consensus between functional management departments and those engaged in production, operations, and frontline tasks. The Party members and young Youth League members pledged that, moving forward, they would translate this commitment into concrete actions, striving to be active participants, contributors, and leaders in advancing ecological civilization and jointly building a beautiful China, thereby making their own contributions to creating a nation of clear waters and verdant mountains.
The “Zichuan District Closed Open-Pit Mine Geological Environment Remediation and Ecological Restoration Project,” which was the focus of this visit, is a government‑funded project undertaken by the Resources and Environment (Geological Disaster) Branch of the Third Party Branch. By integrating geological hazard mitigation with ecological restoration, the project has restored the usability of degraded mining and industrial land and improved the local ecological environment. At present, the on‑site preparatory work for the project’s designated areas has been largely completed, and key tasks such as backfilling with topsoil and planting vegetation are nearing completion. The ecological restoration efforts have begun to yield tangible results and are expected to pass final acceptance in the near future.
