Recently, the unveiling ceremony for the “Karst New Pile Technology Team” was held at the Guangxi Institute. Attending the event were 14 members of the innovation team, including Professors Zhang Xingui and Qin Yinghong of Guangxi University—both also doctoral supervisors—and Professor Fan Qiuyan of Shandong University; as well as 11 external experts, among them Chen Yuzhu, Vice President of the Zhongyan Engineering Technology Institute of the Guangxi Free Trade Zone, and Liang Qingtan, Chairman of Guangxi Huannan Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd. Also present were Zhang Jianchun, Regional Operations Director of the Group (Bureau) and Party Secretary of the Guangxi Institute; Peng Wulian, Director of the Guangxi Institute; and Luo Chong, head of the Karst New Pile Technology Team, Vice Director of the Guangxi Institute, and Chief Engineer. During the ceremony, Zhang Jianchun, Peng Wulian, Luo Chong, Zhang Xingui, Qin Yinghong, and Fan Qiuyan jointly unveiled the plaque marking the establishment of the “Karst New Pile Technology Team.”

Peng Wulian underscored the critical importance of establishing the Karst New Pile Science and Technology Team and set forth specific work requirements for the team: He urged all members to place a high priority on scientific and technological innovation, fully leverage the strong technical expertise of Guangxi University and Nanning’s research institutions, and use innovation to overcome resource and environmental constraints. Through concerted efforts, they should forge ahead on the path of innovation-driven development, yielding substantial breakthroughs in science and technology within three years and writing a brilliant chapter of innovation.
Zhang Jianchun expressed two expectations for the “Karst New Pile Science and Technology Team”: First, he urged the team to adopt a broad perspective that aligns with the nation’s drive to accelerate modernization, strengthening their sense of responsibility and urgency in implementing the innovation‑driven development strategy. He encouraged them to uphold a research ethos characterized by pragmatism, resilience in the face of challenges, a pioneering spirit, and a commitment to excellence, thereby advancing comprehensive innovation—centered on scientific and technological breakthroughs—with renewed vigor. At the same time, he called for bolstering team building, establishing robust mechanisms for cultivating scientific and technological talent, and nurturing a cohort of innovators. Second, he hoped the team would proactively explore ways to refine industry–university–research collaboration frameworks and incentive systems for translating research成果 into practical applications, thus accelerating the commercialization of scientific advances, generating tangible benefits for the Guangxi Institute, and forging a new development path that transforms scientific strength into industrial and economic vitality, providing solid technological support for the Institute’s high‑quality growth.

Following the unveiling ceremony, Zhang Jianchun and Peng Wulian presented appointment letters to external experts and to three 2021‑entry professional master’s students jointly trained by the Guangxi Institute and Guangxi University—members of the science‑and‑technology innovation team. Luo Chong then delivered an opening report on the research of a comprehensive set of key technologies for new pile foundations in karst regions. External expert professors and team members engaged in discussions and exchanges around the report, with all participants expressing their commitment to meticulously carry out the project, forge ahead with determination, collaborate closely, and strive to overcome challenges and achieve significant scientific and technological breakthroughs.
The “Karst New Pile Technology Team” is a key initiative to implement the spirit of the Group (Bureau)’s Third Science and Technology Innovation Conference, fully advance the new development philosophy, and vigorously pursue an innovation-driven development strategy. It will serve as a leading model and provide foundational support for scientific and technological innovation and business development across all units within the Group (Bureau).
