As the New Year approaches, the Party and administrative leadership of Sinochem Shandong Institute extend our heartfelt gratitude to leaders at all levels, our valued clients, and old and new friends who have consistently shown concern and support for the Institute’s reform and development. We also pay profound respect to all those who continue to work tirelessly on the front lines of production and operations, both at home and abroad, during this festive season. In 2021, we celebrated the centenary of the Communist Party of China. Standing at the historical juncture of the “Two Centennials,” China embarked on a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country. This year marked the inaugural year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and was also a pivotal year for Shandong Institute’s transformation and deepening reform. Under the strong leadership of the Group (Bureau) Party Committee, the institute’s leadership team adhered to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, the successive sessions of the 19th Central Committee, and the important instructions and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping. They vigorously promoted the integrated development of Party building and corporate governance, led all cadres and employees in earnestly advancing Party history study and education in celebration of the Party’s centenary, focused their efforts on implementing the new development philosophy and promoting high-quality development, and coordinated routine epidemic prevention and control with production and operations. As a result, the institute successfully fulfilled its annual targets and tasks, maintaining stable economic performance, a harmonious and stable workforce, a clean and upright political environment, and zero accidents in workplace safety.

This year, we strengthened Party building as the guiding force, seizing the opportunity of the centenary of the Communist Party of China to build consensus, pool strengths, and vigorously expand our markets, thereby driving high-quality development. All major economic indicators posted year-on-year growth, and we fully achieved the “two profits and four ratios” performance targets set by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

This year, we focused on our core responsibilities and strategic priorities, formulated a well‑grounded development plan, and initially established a new organizational structure centered on three key pillars—resource exploration, ecological environment, and underground engineering—while leveraging the geoinformation industry as a growth driver. Meanwhile, industrial restructuring and transformation and upgrading have continued to advance in depth.

This year, we strengthened scientific and technological innovation and enhanced our competitive soft power. By combining “going global” with “inviting in” and implementing a system of rewards for scientific and technological achievements, we motivated our employees to innovate proactively. We obtained more than ten new patents and received numerous accolades from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Geological Society of Shandong Province, and the Group (Bureau).

This year, we deepened enterprise reform, continuously unleashing internal vitality. The separation of administrative and business functions advanced steadily, corporate governance systems were gradually refined, and all second-level independent legal entities affiliated with the institute completed competitive recruitment for managerial positions and implemented contract-based management, thereby driving the three-year state-owned enterprise reform initiative to greater depth and effectiveness.

This year, we enhanced the well-being of our staff by delivering tangible benefits to the people, continuing initiatives such as “Summer Coolness Deliveries and Winter Warmth Campaigns,” improving office conditions, renovating older residential communities, and providing supplementary medical insurance for all employees—ensuring that the fruits of high-quality development reach every member of our workforce.

This year, we strengthened ideological and publicity work, vigorously upheld the fine tradition of Party building leading mass organization development, leveraged the combined strengths of the United Front and mass organizations, put into practice Sinochem Mingda’s corporate culture, and launched a series of vibrant initiatives to make contributions in the new era. As a result, we successfully earned the designation of a provincial-level model unit for spiritual civilization in Shandong Province.

With unwavering determination and vigorous effort, we will break new ground and write a new chapter. Looking ahead to 2022, we face even greater challenges, yet also enjoy broader opportunities for development. As we embark on the second century-long journey of striving for progress, our institute will rally ever more closely around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, fully implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and all subsequent plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and, in accordance with the work arrangements of the Group (Bureau) Party Committee, unite and lead all cadres and employees to shoulder their missions, take on heavy responsibilities, and embrace innovation. We will devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the battle of the 14th Five-Year Plan, contributing the wisdom and strength of Shandong Institute to the continued success of the Group’s (Bureau’s) reform and development, and greet the victorious convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC with even more outstanding achievements!
