Our institute hosted a specialized lecture on the treatment of heavy metal contamination in sediment.


To further expand our institute’s business operations and foster a vibrant atmosphere of academic exchange, on March 1, our institute invited Dr. Ma Tao, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Provincial Environmental Protection Science Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., to deliver a specialized training lecture on “Remediation of Heavy Metal Contamination in Sediments.” The lecture was chaired by Peng Mingzhang, the institute’s Chief Engineer and Executive Deputy General Manager (acting in charge), and was attended by more than 20 technical core personnel from various departments.

Dr. Ma Tao outlined the current status and emerging trends in the remediation of heavy-metal contamination in sediment, highlighted the key challenges in this field, and, drawing on his own professional experience, provided a detailed exposition across four key components: sediment distribution mapping, assessment of contaminant-layer thickness, identification of pollution‑causing factors, and integration of survey results into a comprehensive system. Finally, by referencing relevant case studies from heavy‑metal‑contaminated sediment remediation projects, Dr. Ma engaged the audience in a discussion on potential issues that may arise in future efforts to address this environmental challenge.

After the lecture, Dr. Ma Tao and Peng Mingzhang engaged in an in-depth discussion on strengthening practical cooperation between the two sides, emphasizing the need to intensify collaborative efforts, deepen the scope of cooperation, innovate cooperative approaches, and achieve mutually beneficial, win-win development goals.

This training has played a significant role in further expanding our institute’s market for the remediation of heavy-metal contamination in sediment.
