On March 12, the Group (Bureau) convened the 2021 annual assessment meeting for its science and technology innovation teams, conducting a review of the annual performance outcomes of key science and technology innovation teams under construction. Zhu Lixin, specially appointed chief expert at the Group’s (Bureau’s) Academician and Expert Workstation; Jiao Sen, member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer; and Yao Chaomei, head of the Chief Experts Group, attended the meeting.

The six innovation teams participating in the assessment are: the Research Team on Technologies for Efficient and Clean Utilization of Resources; the Research Team on Key Integrated Technologies for New Types of Pile Foundations in Karst Regions; the Research Team on Urban 3D Geology and Digitalization Technologies; the Research Team on the Development and Application of Technologies for Remediation of Contaminated Soils; the Research Center for Coastal Zone Resource Utilization and Environmental Restoration; and the Research Team on Testing Technologies and Standards for Chemical and Mineral Resources.

According to the relevant assessment measures, the construction cycle for science and technology innovation teams is three years, and this assessment marks the first annual review. The heads of each innovation team presented reports on their achievements over the past year and outlined their plans for the next phase. The expert panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the teams’ outcomes based on their project task descriptions and provided constructive guidance. This assessment serves as a milestone review of the teams’ innovative accomplishments and offers critical direction for ongoing innovation efforts. The assessment results will be a key factor in determining annual funding allocations, thereby fostering and guiding the Group’s (Bureau’s) overall science and technology innovation activities.
