By seizing the initiative and getting off to a strong start, project teams across the country have fully resumed work. On the snow‑covered plateaus and in the dense forests and remote mountains, drilling rigs rumble, vehicles shuttle back and forth, and everyone is racing to deliver Mingda’s accelerated progress!
Xinjiang Lop Nur Potash Project

In recent days, the Institute of Geological Research and the Hubei Institute have overcome pandemic-related challenges and surmounted numerous obstacles, organizing key technical personnel for the “Luo Potash” project to arrive on site ahead of schedule, actively coordinating construction resources, and preparing for deployment. On March 9, a construction team of more than 50 members from multiple provinces, along with the necessary equipment, once again assembled on the plateau, marking the official resumption of work on the “Luo North Mining Area W1–W4 Brine‑Layer Potash Resource Exploration Project (Section I).” This project serves as a crucial platform for the Group (Bureau) to deepen its core expertise in chemical‑geological and mineral‑resource exploration, showcasing its professional technical capabilities, and plays a vital role in accurately assessing China’s potash reserves and ensuring the sustainable development and utilization of the nation’s chemical‑mineral resources.
Exploration of the Daluo Dam Iron Polymetallic Deposit in Menghai, Yunnan Province

In early March, the Shandong Institute proactively visited its long-standing client, Jinghong Mingcheng Mining Co., Ltd., engaging in proactive marketing and deepening cooperation, ultimately securing a new exploration project for the Daluo Dam iron‑polymetallic deposit in Menghai County, Yunnan Province. The implementation approach—“prospecting in two phases, starting with targeted areas before expanding to broader regions, thereby reducing costs and mitigating risks”—aligned closely with the client’s practical needs, served their interests, and delivered efficiency, cost savings, and safety, earning high praise from Jinghong Mingcheng Mining. As a result, the two parties reached a consensus on mineral‑rights cooperation.
The project is located in a remote jungle in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, right on the border with Myanmar. The climate is hot year-round, the vegetation is lush, and venomous snakes and other wild animals are frequently encountered, placing significant demands on physical stamina. At present, the project team is making the most of the brief window before the onset of the local rainy season, diligently overcoming challenges by forging paths where none exist and establishing working conditions where none yet prevail, all in an effort to advance the project’s exploration work with full commitment.
Survey and Mapping for the New Fuel Supply Project at Longzi Airport, Tibet

On February 26, the survey and mapping project for the new fuel‑supply facility at Longzi Airport in Tibet was officially launched. To accelerate project progress, the Yunnan Institute’s Tibet Project Office has implemented rigorous closed‑loop management on site, ensuring that prevention and control measures, staff screening, facilities and supplies, environmental disinfection, and workplace safety are all fully in place—thereby establishing a robust safety framework for construction operations. At present, project management personnel are leading shifts, while construction crews are seizing every available moment, stepping up efforts, and operating at full capacity, swiftly entering a phase of intensive construction and accelerated progress. With all resources mobilized, the project is advancing steadily.
Debris Flow Control in Nyingchi, Tibet

The snow-covered plateau is growing warmer, and the picturesque countryside is lush with greenery. Meanwhile, the debris-flow control project on the back hill of the Damu Township Central Primary School in Motuo County, Nyingchi City, Tibet—once “frozen” by the region’s biting cold—has gradually begun to thaw. Since February 16, the Yunnan Institute’s Tibet Project Office has remained steadfast in its goals, pressed ahead with unwavering determination, and swiftly resumed construction. Overcoming numerous challenges—including extreme cold, oxygen deficiency, intense solar radiation, and rampant sandstorms—the team has meticulously planned and executed the work, implemented rigorous safety measures to prevent secondary disasters, and ensured the safety of teachers and students as well as the protection of school property.
Deep-Deposit Geological Exploration Drilling at Jinchuan Group in Jinchang, Gansu Province

“The spring is the season of the year; every minute counts as we accelerate production.” On February 13, the Northeast Company’s project team traveled to Jinchang, Gansu, to commence a deep‑level geological exploration drilling campaign targeting the No. 1 orebody in Block II of the Mining Engineering Branch of Jinchuan Group Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., at depths below 700 meters along drifts 8–18.
This drilling project is the world’s third-largest nickel mine, conducted simultaneously as both mining and exploration. The boreholes are located within underground tunnels 700 meters below the surface, where space is confined, temperatures are high, and vertical access is difficult, leading to a sense of confinement among the workforce. Stringent safety measures further extend auxiliary work time, making the drilling operation both time-consuming and labor-intensive. Under such challenging conditions, the Northeast Company’s Jilin Institute drilling team has fully accommodated the client’s specific requirements, tailored its approach to local circumstances, optimized the technical workflow, and provided effective psychological support to the workers, thereby accelerating progress on the drilling and exploration tasks. To date, more than 400 meters of drilling have been completed.
Geothermal Resource Exploration in Diqing, Yunnan

The geothermal resource exploration project for the Shangri-La Economic Development Zone in Diqing, Yunnan, is situated in a high-altitude, deeply dissected mountainous region, with elevations ranging from a maximum of 5,596 meters to a minimum of approximately 1,800 meters. In certain areas, steep cliffs have formed, resulting in extremely rugged terrain. Despite tight deadlines and heavy workloads, on February 7, the project team from Shandong Institute proactively overcame numerous challenges—including high altitude and complex topography—working around the clock, traversing mountains and crossing ridges, and swiftly completing hydrogeological and environmental surveys covering more than 80 square kilometers, as well as conducting magnetotelluric sounding at over 160 sites and seismic frequency‑resonance measurements at more than 100 locations.
With full momentum, we are resuming work and production, summoning all our energy to forge a new chapter.
