The First Party Branch convened its second-quarter party members’ meeting to deliver a Party lecture and conduct further study.

On the afternoon of April 20, the First Party Branch convened its second-quarter party members’ meeting. The meeting was chaired by Li Zheng, the organizational committee member, and was attended by a total of 21 participants, including party members and prospective party members. Comrade Yang Cheng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, also attended the meeting.

The conference deliberated and discussed matters related to the formal admission of Comrade Zheng Jian, a probationary Party member, and set higher standards for the branch’s work in cultivating and developing new Party members. Following thorough discussion and a democratic vote among the attending Party members, it was unanimously agreed that Comrade Zheng Jian be admitted as a full member of the Communist Party of China on schedule.

At the meeting, Party branch committee member Deng Juemei led attendees in an in-depth study of the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang on behalf of the State Council at the Fifth Session of the 13th National People’s Congress, and organized a viewing of the China Media Group’s special report, “2022 Focus on the Two Sessions: An Interpretation of the Government Work Report.” The entire report was centered on development, focused on reform, and deeply attuned to people’s livelihoods. In particular, the emphasis on continuously strengthening ecological progress and environmental protection is closely relevant to our industry, providing clear guidance for our institute as we seek to consolidate our position in the geological exploration market and, in alignment with ecological construction, mining services, the Rural Revitalization Strategy, and the dual‑carbon goals, steadfastly pursue a green, circular, high‑quality development path and steadily advance the institute’s high‑quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Branch Secretary Yang Xiaomin delivered a special Party lecture on the theme “Consolidate the Foundation of Ideals and Beliefs, and Safeguard the Line of Defense Against Corruption and Degeneration.” Drawing on her own study insights, she provided an in-depth interpretation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, which he has delivered on six consecutive occasions at the opening ceremonies of the Central Party School (National Academy of Governance) training programs for mid‑ and young‑level cadres. These speeches, each focusing on distinct themes, comprehensively and systematically address the critical question of how young cadres can grow and excel. Secretary Yang called on all Party members of the branch to consciously maintain a high degree of consistency with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core—in thought, politics, and action—resolutely implement the Party’s theories, lines, principles, and policies, and ensure that the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee are fully and faithfully put into practice. She urged them to always be politically clear‑headed and upright, to keep their minds pure, to remain mindful of discipline, to never overstep established norms, and to bear in mind the nation’s paramount interests, striving to become exemplary cadres who “uphold integrity and follow the right path, and cherish virtue while maintaining self‑respect.”

Finally, to consolidate and strengthen the outcomes of the training program organized by the China National Coal Administration on studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions centered on this theme, drawing on their respective work realities, and submitted 22 written reflections on their learning experiences.
