Skillful hands wrap tangyuan, joyfully celebrating the Lantern Festival.

Spring is warm and the sun shines as the Lantern Festival arrives—on the fifteenth, the lanterns light up in festive splendor!

To promote traditional Chinese culture, foster a festive, joyful, and harmonious holiday atmosphere, and showcase the fine spirit of our staff, the Institute’s Trade Union organized the “Skillful Hands Make Tangyuan, Joyfully Celebrate the Lantern Festival” event on February 3, 2023.

In the morning, culinary experts from all the institute’s branches gathered together, rolling out dough, stretching wrappers, filling them, and shaping the dumplings into perfect rounds. Everyone showcased their skills—some worked in an assembly-line fashion according to assigned tasks, while others insisted on completing the entire process on their own. As they progressed from unfamiliarity to proficiency, the atmosphere was festive and harmonious. Before long, a table laden with plump, round tangyuan was ready: sesame‑filled ones symbolizing prosperity and success; peanut‑filled ones promising good fortune; red bean paste–filled ones heralding a bright and thriving life; and fruit‑jam–filled ones signifying everlasting sweetness. Each variety of tangyuan, gently tossed in hot broth, not only delighted the palate but also conveyed the joy and sense of reunion that all staff members feel as they look forward to this cherished traditional festival.

With each bowl of tangyuan, we look forward to a year of fulfillment and harmony. We sincerely wish all our colleagues in the Shandong Institute a joyful reunion and shared happiness, as we embark together on a new journey in the coming year. May the days ahead grow stronger with each passing year, thanks to our collective efforts.

Hereby, the Shandong Institute’s Trade Union extends its warmest wishes to all: Happy Lantern Festival, with peace of mind, happiness, and good health!
