Our hospital held the 2023 New Employee Orientation and Onboarding Training Session.

To help new employees integrate more quickly and effectively into our institute, accelerate their transition into their roles, carry forward the geological spirit, rally fresh talent, and enhance their professional competence and expertise, our institute convened the 2023 New Employee Orientation and Onboarding Training Session on November 22. The meeting was chaired by Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, with attendance from members of the institute’s leadership team and heads of relevant departments.

At the meeting, newly hired employees each introduced themselves, briefly outlined their backgrounds, shared their reflections on their work, and articulated their career aspirations. Wang Qingfeng, Party Secretary and President, on behalf of all cadres and staff at Shandong Institute, extended a warm welcome to the new recruits, commended their spirited, proactive, and upward‑looking attitude, and then provided a concise overview of the organization’s basic profile. Drawing on practical experience, he went on to set forth five expectations: First, Quickly adapt to your new role and actively integrate into the work environment. Leverage the energy and enterprising spirit of young professionals, excel at collaboration, align your personal growth with the development of Shandong Institute, and inject youthful vitality into its continued advancement. Second is Forge ahead with pioneering spirit and aspire to great heights. Uphold unwavering convictions, set clear life goals, and meticulously craft your career development plan. Dare to shoulder heavy responsibilities and embrace challenging tasks; grow through your work and advance as you mature, sharing a common destiny with Shandong Institute as it thrives. Third is Be adept at learning and integrate knowledge with practice. We must eliminate the “empty talk” that separates learning from action, ensuring that we learn by doing and do while learning, applying what we learn to advance our work, using our work to deepen our learning, and achieving mutual growth through the interplay of learning and application. In this way, we can continuously enhance our professional capabilities and meet the demands of our roles. Fourth is Unity and collaboration, pragmatism and hard work. We should jointly foster a positive atmosphere of mutual cooperation and enjoyable teamwork, humbly learning from our colleagues the professional ethos and practical experience, and through seeking guidance and exploration, refine our approaches and achieve personal growth. Fifth is Uphold rules and discipline, and fulfill duties with dedication. We must respect established norms and adhere to bottom lines, internalizing discipline and regulations in our hearts and translating them into concrete actions. Embracing the “craftsman spirit,” we should stay committed to our roles, work diligently, and strive for professional excellence and personal growth.

Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, delivered the “First Lesson on Integrity” to new employees, administering a preventive dose of ethical conduct and helping them fasten the “first button” of professional integrity. He urged everyone: First, it is necessary to Uphold our ideals and convictions, and strive to be individuals of high aspiration. Taking the ongoing thematic education campaign on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as an opportunity, let us set aside distractions and carefully read the works of General Secretary Xi Jinping, truly equipping ourselves with the Marxist stance, viewpoint, and methodology to guide our thinking, inform our practice, and advance our work. Second, it is necessary to Put morality first and be a person of integrity. Always maintain a sense of reverence, uphold the bottom line, and hold yourself to the highest standards; translate political discipline and rules into concrete actions and reflect them in every word and deed, becoming a politically clear‑headed and upright individual. Third, it is necessary. Be courageous in shouldering responsibility and be a pragmatic, hardworking individual; when faced with urgent, difficult, dangerous, and critical tasks, step up and take the lead.

At the meeting, other hospital leaders also offered words of encouragement and parting advice to the new colleagues. Following that, Wang Qingfeng and Yang Cheng, on behalf of our hospital, presented commemorative gifts to the newly hired staff.
