On November 21, the Party Committee of the institute convened the third session of its thematic education reading class via DingTalk, holding a focused discussion on “How to advance scientific and technological innovation and the commercialization of research outcomes, build the Shandong Institute’s core competitiveness, and promote high-quality development,” thereby addressing practical issues in the enterprise’s reform and development through in-depth study of the thematic education. The meeting was led by Comrade Zhang Shuqi, Director of Safety, and was attended by nearly 30 participants, including members of the institute’s leadership team, members of the thematic education leading group and its office, secretaries of all Party branches, and young League members.
During the session on studying the original works, reading the original texts, and grasping the underlying principles, the meeting conducted a focused study of selected chapters from Volume I of “Selected Works of Xi Jinping” and “Excerpts from Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,” thereby gaining a profound understanding of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches and achieving ideological unity and consensus through in-depth study and meticulous reflection.
Following the conclusion of the study session, participants engaged in a series of remarks, each drawing on their respective areas of responsibility and the specific circumstances of their departments. During the discussion, it was emphasized that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on scientific and technological innovation serve as the fundamental guiding principle and action roadmap for advancing such work, and that accelerating the achievement of high‑level self‑reliance and self‑strengthening in science and technology is an indispensable path to promoting high‑quality development. Our institute is currently at a critical stage of reform; scientific and technological innovation is the core driving force behind the enterprise’s pursuit of high‑quality growth. We must earnestly implement the spirit of the General Secretary’s important instructions, align them with the institute’s actual conditions, continuously stimulate the vitality and momentum of scientific and technological innovation, and broadly pool powerful synergies to advance this endeavor.
The meeting called for a steadfast commitment to both goal‑oriented and problem‑oriented approaches, identifying shortcomings in areas such as institutional frameworks, high‑caliber talent, the research environment, and the commercialization of scientific成果. It emphasized the need to strengthen follow‑up and implementation of corrective measures, ensuring that scientific and technological innovation better serves production. Furthermore, it urged deepening collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research institutions, and end‑users, focusing on major national and sectoral priorities. By concentrating on our institute’s strengths in strategic mineral exploration and addressing key challenges in advancing ecological civilization, we will integrate resources and industrial advantages, leverage technological innovation to drive development, and muster strong momentum to provide robust scientific and technological support for the high‑quality growth of our geological endeavors.
