On February 19, at the outset of the post-holiday workweek, our institute held the 2024 “First Lesson of the New Year” and a comprehensive safety production training session, adopting a hybrid online–offline format. We reaffirmed that the very first priority upon resuming work is to emphasize and strengthen safety, analyzed and assessed the current safety production landscape, and outlined key tasks to ensure the continued stability of the institute’s (company’s) safety production situation.
Party Secretary and President Wang Qingfeng delivered a lecture on work safety. “The First Lesson After the Start of Work.” Wang Qingfeng provided a detailed exposition from three perspectives: the importance of post-holiday safety training, the implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions, and the enforcement of the enterprise-wide responsibility system for workplace safety. He emphasized that human life is heavier than Mount Tai and that there are no small matters when it comes to safety. All employees must fully recognize the paramount importance of ensuring workplace safety, approach their duties with a sense of responsibility—always feeling deeply concerned—and devote themselves wholeheartedly to every aspect of safety management, proceeding steadily and methodically, one step at a time. With full enthusiasm, high morale, and a pragmatic spirit, they should firmly anchor themselves to the annual goals for safety and environmental protection, safeguard the bottom line, never cross red lines, and jointly forge a new safety framework to underpin the institute’s (company’s) high‑quality development.
The meeting emphasized that, The “first lesson upon commencement of work” must be rigorously implemented to ensure full coverage. Each department shall promptly arrange make-up sessions for personnel who were unable to attend due to on‑duty shifts, leave, business trips, or other reasons, ensuring that all employees receive training before taking up their posts. The first quarter is a peak period for workplace safety accidents. At the meeting, priority was given to outlining safety measures for the first quarter, with all departments urged to further strengthen their political awareness, sense of the bigger picture, and sense of responsibility, and to coordinate efforts to ensure both safety and production, as well as safety and stability. Prior to the commencement or resumption of field projects, it is imperative to rigorously adhere to the project start-up and resumption inspection and acceptance procedures, conduct thorough pre‑resumption safety inspections and address identified hazards, and strictly follow the required reporting and approval processes. Only after confirming that all conditions for safe and civilized construction are met may work commence or resume, thereby fully safeguarding workplace safety across the entire institute.
The training session was chaired by Pan Weicai, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection. Members of the Institute’s Safety Committee attended in person, while other staff participated online via DingTalk video conferencing.
