An Appeal on “Practicing Frugality—Starting with Me”
Dear Colleagues:
Frugality and hard work are time-honored virtues of the Chinese nation and also a fine tradition of our Party. Building a resource‑conserving society is an important decision made by the Party and the government, based on China’s national conditions and the needs of economic and social development in the new era. Practicing strict economy and upholding the spirit of hard struggle are not only essential for the sustainable development of our institution but also an inescapable social responsibility of our organization as a centrally administered state‑owned enterprise. While encouraging all employees to engage in marketing initiatives to boost revenue and both increase income and reduce expenditures, we also advocate rigorous cost control, prudent spending, and efforts to cut costs while enhancing efficiency.
In active response to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s call, and to help all staff members firmly cultivate a mindset of “living frugally” — even “living with hardship” — while developing the fine habits of thrift and hard work, and to ensure that conservation efforts become routine and sustainable, our hospital is launching the initiative “Practice Frugality: Start with Me.”
1. Transfer Change of thought Think and cultivate correct values. Uphold frugality, practice prudent spending, strengthen awareness of conservation, and consciously refrain from wasteful behavior.
II. Engage in mutual oversight and reminders, contributing to cost reduction, expense control, quality improvement, and efficiency gains within the organization. Each employee reminds and monitors one another, with everyone striving to be a promoter, practitioner, and role model of frugality, working together to foster a strong culture of thrift.
III. Party members should actively assume a leading role, strengthen publicity and education, and put thrift into practice through their own actions. The organization has guided departmental staff in conducting exchanges and discussions, actively offering constructive suggestions for promoting frugality in light of the department’s specific circumstances, and committing to sustaining these practices over the long term in future work.
Frugality is a virtue, a way of working, and above all, a responsibility. Practicing thrift and saving resources requires consistency in everyday life and unwavering perseverance. Let us translate this principle into concrete actions—starting with ourselves, starting now—by taking small but meaningful steps: conserving water, reducing electricity consumption, minimizing paper use, practicing food waste reduction, and managing official vehicle use in a rational and coordinated manner. By vigorously promoting and cultivating a culture of frugality, we can foster a strong ethos of rigorous economy, opposition to waste, humility, composure, and hard work, thereby making our due contribution to the high‑quality development of our organization.
