On October 17, a delegation led by Tan Kai, Vice President of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), paid a visit to our institute for an inspection and held discussions on strengthening university–enterprise technological cooperation and fostering industry–university–research integration. Attending the meeting were Wang Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the institute; Qiu Guanghui, Member of the Party Committee and Vice Director; Li Yinzhen, Chief Engineer; Chen Hao, Chairman of the Asset Management Company of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing); Jiang Jinbao, Vice Dean of the Graduate School; and Wang Zehui, Director of the National University Science Park, among others.
Party Secretary and President Wang Qingfeng extended a warm welcome to President Tan and his delegation, providing a detailed overview of the institute’s illustrious 50-year history, as well as its current industrial layout, technological capabilities, and equipment advantages. In turn, President Tan expressed gratitude for the institute’s gracious hospitality, while highlighting China University of Mining and Technology’s century-long legacy and its distinguished faculty. He noted that this visit and exchange have fostered a deeper mutual understanding, and he looks forward to jointly exploring avenues for in-depth university–enterprise collaboration.
The two parties reached a consensus on their intention to cooperate, and the Shandong Institute signed a strategic cooperation agreement on-site with the National University Science Park of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing).
Following the symposium, Professor Jiang Jinbao delivered a vivid lecture on mineral exploration techniques, titled “Applications of Hyperspectral Technology in Geological Exploration and Ore Processing,” thereby enriching the knowledge base of our institute’s young geoscientists in the field of mineral exploration.
Accompanied by Li Yinzhen, the chief engineer of our institute, Principal Tan and his delegation also conducted an on-site inspection at the construction site of the “Bedrock Benchmark Construction in Xushang Subdistrict, Shanghe County” project, which is part of our institute’s Jinan City Ground Subsidence Monitoring Network initiative. Qi Xiequan, deputy director and chief engineer of the Hydrogeology and Environmental Division, provided a detailed briefing on the project’s overview, technical approaches, and interim achievements.
Going forward, our institution will, as always, uphold the principles of openness and inclusiveness, proactively establish platforms for exchange between universities and enterprises, and further translate collaborative opportunities into tangible outcomes, thereby achieving mutual benefit through complementary strengths.
Professor Cheng Linlin from the Department of Surveying and Mapping and Land Use at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Yin Xiuzhen, a Level-3 Chief Expert at our institute, Yu Mingguang, Deputy Director (acting) of the Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration Branch (Business Unit), along with relevant departmental staff, attended the meeting.
