At the start of the new year, Shandong Institute has enjoyed a strong opening, securing two consecutive geological projects each valued at over ten million yuan: the “Iron Ore Exploration Project in the Dazhang Area of Qihe County, Shandong Province,” with an estimated contract value exceeding RMB 40 million, and the “Surface Pre-grouting Works for Potash Mine Shafts in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand,” awarded at over RMB 17 million.

The “Iron Ore Exploration Project in the Dazhang Area of Qihe County, Shandong Province” will, through scientifically sound and well‑planned exploration techniques, delineate the strike and dip trends of the ore body, estimate the iron ore resources within the area, and assess the mining‑technical conditions of the deposit, thereby providing a robust geological basis for the prospecting rights holder’s next steps in mine development and construction planning. The Party Committee of the Shandong Institute will coordinate the selection and deployment of highly qualified, multidisciplinary technical personnel to form an integrated project team, while also exploring the establishment of appropriate incentive mechanisms to strengthen the sense of responsibility and motivation among project members, thus ensuring the successful achievement of new mineral‑exploration results.

The “Surface Pre‑grouting Project for the Potash Mine Shaft in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand” will employ a series of technical measures to address shaft water inflow during potash mine construction, thereby supporting safe and efficient project execution. Drawing on years of experience in water control at Lao potash mines, the project team will simultaneously prioritize both construction and innovation, establishing a science‑and‑technology innovation team that focuses on two key areas: “improving existing grouting materials” and “developing new, highly corrosion‑resistant, high‑strength materials.” The team will concentrate on overcoming the challenges of mudstone grouting in the Sakon Nakhon region of Thailand and the Vientiane Basin in Laos, striving to achieve breakthroughs in scientific and technological research while ensuring smooth project implementation, thus further strengthening Shandong Institute’s core competitiveness in the potash mine water‑control market.

Since learning of the two project opportunities, Shandong Institute has attached great importance to them, with senior management spearheading marketing efforts. The institute led its departments in proactive coordination and communication, mobilizing a highly capable team to intensify project research and meticulously prepare bid proposals. Leveraging its comprehensive deep‑mineral exploration technologies—developed through more than a decade of exploration work at the Gulin–Lanling iron ore deposit and in the Dazhang area of Qihe—and drawing on over ten years of experience in brine‑water control for potash mines accumulated in Laos, the institute successfully secured contracts for both projects.
