China National Coal Geological Bureau Makes Its Debut at the 2025 China (Guangxi)–ASEAN Mining Cooperation Conference
On May 22, the 2025 China (Guangxi)–ASEAN Mining Cooperation Conference opened at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi. The China National Bureau of Coal Geology, as a representative of central enterprises, was invited to participate in the event. Ju Yitai, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau, attended the opening ceremony and took part in the academic symposium of the Overseas Mineral Resources Branch of the Geological Society of China.
This year’s Mining Conference was themed “Deepening Belt and Road Cooperation to Jointly Promote High-Quality Development of the China–ASEAN Mining Sector,” and featured more than 20 major events, including six specialized symposiums on ASEAN‑country mining promotion and cooperation, dialogues and partnerships with leading mineral‑resource enterprises, and mining transformation and green development. At its booth, the China National Bureau of Coal Geology showcased, through text, images, videos, and physical models, the Bureau’s steadfast adherence to its “1158” development strategy and its industrial‑development framework of “One Core, Four Wings, Two Cultivations.” The exhibit highlighted the Bureau’s achievements in focusing on its core responsibilities while fostering new, high‑quality productive forces. The booth also included a realistic model zone for integrated “Geothermal Plus” energy development and utilization, as well as display areas featuring physical samples of coal seams, iron‑aluminum rocks, marble, and other materials. These exhibits transformed cutting‑edge geothermal technologies—such as “extracting heat without extracting water”—into tangible, visual representations, demonstrating the Bureau’s comprehensive strength in mineral‑resource exploration and green development, and fully underscoring the brand’s influence and reputation. Many attendees stopped by to tour the exhibit, seek information, and engage in discussions, generating an enthusiastic response on site.
In recent years, the Administration has earnestly implemented the new energy security strategy of “Four Revolutions and One Cooperation,” actively responded to the national Belt and Road Initiative, and vigorously expanded mining cooperation in the ASEAN region. It has carried out numerous geological exploration projects in countries such as Laos, Thailand, and Malaysia, covering the exploration and evaluation of resources including potash and manganese ores, and achieved a series of significant mineral discovery results, thereby injecting new momentum into the deepening of regional economic cooperation.
