The Science and Technology Conference of the China National Coal Administration concluded successfully, with the “11410” strategy for scientific and technological development guiding innovation to set sail.

Li Jinfa, Deputy Director of the China Geological Survey, paid a visit to provide guidance. Attending the meeting were Bureau leaders Zhao Ping, Ren Hui, Wang Haining, Yu Xueping, Tang Nianchu, Pan Shuren, and Xu Xiaolian; Hou Shenjian, President of the Coal Geology Branch; Assistant Directors Feng Fan and Mu Yong; Union Chairman Yu Yunqiang; Chief Expert Group Leader Wang Tong; and Yan Zhengguang, Deputy Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Li Jinfa delivered a special report titled “New Reflections on China’s Geological Survey Work in the New Era and Measures and Outcomes for Advancing Scientific and Technological Innovation,” systematically expounding on three key aspects: the connotations and characteristics of geological work in the new era, the new strategic arrangements for geological surveying in the new era, and the measures and results achieved in promoting scientific and technological innovation in geological surveys.

The meeting emphasized that all units across the organization must adhere to the “four‑pronged alignment” principle: aligning scientific and technological innovation with strategic priorities, cutting‑edge technologies, market demands, and on‑site production. Specifically, efforts should focus on geological support technologies for green exploration and safe mining; technologies for chemical mineral exploration and comprehensive resource utilization; integrated evaluation techniques for co‑occurring and associated mineral resources in coal‑bearing strata; ecological geoscience surveying and engineering application technologies; technologies for the comprehensive utilization of resources from closed mines; mine disaster prevention and control as well as solid waste management technologies; shallow subsurface space exploration technologies; geographic information product development technologies; underground engineering and construction technologies; and Internet‑based solutions. + The “Ten Priority Research Areas” for geological service technologies are continuously advancing the organization’s scientific and technological innovation to a new level.

The meeting called on all cadres and employees across the bureau to shoulder the new mission entrusted to us in the new era and to thoroughly implement the General Administration’s… 11410 “Guided by a vision for technological development, with even greater determination and a pragmatic work ethic, we will strive to achieve…” 11463 “Make a greater contribution to the strategic objectives.”
