It is the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Victory Day.
It is a day that every Chinese person should remember.
September 2, 75 years ago
Japan formally signed the instrument of surrender.
14 years of bloody fighting
Over 35 million compatriots were killed or wounded.
Finally, the victory of the nationwide War of Resistance has been achieved.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, to promote the spirit of patriotism, and to remember history while forging ahead, several Party branches and the Youth League Committee of our institute have recently organized Party members, League members, and active individuals to watch the war‑themed film “The Eight Hundred.”
Through the film, everyone revisited the awe‑inspiring scenes of the “Eight Hundred Heroes,” who, from a tiny patch of land, bravely fought against the invaders, resolved to die for their country, and faced death without fear, fighting bloody battles to the very end. Throughout the viewing, audiences were repeatedly moved by the profound patriotism embodied by the Eight Hundred Heroes—their sense of responsibility that every citizen shares in the rise and fall of the nation—by their heroic spirit of refusing to yield even unto death and fighting to the bitter end, and by their unyielding, indomitable belief in ultimate victory.
Remembering history is not about perpetuating hatred.
The Chinese people who have endured hardship
Those who understand peace best appreciate its value.
Today, we pay tribute to our forebears.
A tribute to that unwavering struggle.
Even more of a reminder to you and me
Never forget history; cherish peace!
Revitalize China—let us, the younger generation, strive for self-improvement!
