On October 15, a delegation of five, including Wang Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of our institute, and Sun Xinyong, Vice President and head of the trade union, visited Anqiu City, Shandong Province, to inspect and provide guidance on the ecological restoration project for abandoned mines and the provincial 1:50,000 regional mineral geological survey project covering the Zhigou and Zhucheng sheets. They also paid a visit to and extended condolences to field workers on the front lines.
After hearing reports from Xiong Yuqiang, Director of the Mineral Exploration Branch Institute, and Peng Xuefeng, the project leader, on the progress and achievements of the Zhucheng Project, the inspection team conducted a spot check of the project’s original data and reviewed safety conditions in both production and living areas. They exchanged views with the project team regarding existing issues, fully commended the team’s spirit of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to the geological cause, and encouraged them to press ahead, overcome challenges, and carry out the fieldwork with high quality and efficiency while ensuring safety.
Later, at the field project base, Comrades Wang Qingfeng and Sun Xinyong each delivered a unique, short party lecture. Wang Qingfeng emphasized the importance of firmly upholding our ideals and convictions, making the most of our youthful years, and dedicating our passion and hard work to the cause of geology. He stressed that the project is our battlefield, and Party members must take the lead by setting an exemplary standard, embodying the spirit of “Leave it to me—watch me—and let’s get it done together,” thereby inspiring all team members to overcome challenges. With a strong sense of responsibility and pride, we should showcase our professional expertise and dedication, using high‑quality project outcomes and solid results to reflect the distinguished character of our institute. Sun Xinyong noted that the hard work of all project personnel deserves recognition, and he expressed hope that they would complete their tasks with both quality and quantity, delivering a satisfactory performance to our clients. He encouraged young staff, especially those on the front lines, to actively participate in relevant activities to enliven our cultural atmosphere, adding that the institute will continue to provide platforms for them to demonstrate their youthful energy and vitality. Around noon, the institute’s leadership gathered with everyone for informal chats about daily life and fieldwork, sharing a meal together at the project site. The inspection team also presented gifts of appreciation to the field workers.
Zhang Zhongxin, Deputy Director of the Geological Survey Sub‑Institute; Li Zheng, Deputy Director of the Geological Science and Technology Department (Safety and Environmental Protection Department); and Song Huijun, Deputy Manager (in charge of daily operations) of Shandong Hongfa Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., accompanied the inspection and offered words of encouragement.
