As the nation observes its 28th Fire Safety Publicity Month, from November 11 to 14, a delegation led by Zhang Shuqi, Vice President and Chief Safety Officer of our institute, along with Liu Jianwen, Director of the Safety and Environmental Protection Department, and Deputy Director Li Zheng, conducted a safety inspection at the Hubei Yanjing construction site and organized a fire‑fighting drill.
On the 12th, the inspection team first heard reports on the Hubei Yanjing Project Department’s safety production and Party-building efforts, urging the project staff to adopt a “Party building plus” approach and working model to further deepen the integration of Party building with production and operations, thereby effectively translating the Party’s new ideas, concepts, and strategies into a powerful driving force for advancing production. Subsequently, the team conducted a safety inspection at the construction site of the San Kou Renovation Well project of Hubei Shuanghuan Technology Co., Ltd.

On the morning of the 13th, a fire‑fighting drill and related training were conducted at the construction site of the No. 16 well group project in the Xitou Mining Area. Li Zheng briefed participants on basic fire safety principles, firefighting techniques, and fire‑escape procedures. Following the briefing, project staff practiced using fire extinguishers, simulating an emergency fire outbreak in the area where drilling operations are underway—when the safety of personnel and the integrity of equipment and property are at risk—and demonstrated how to properly respond to the source of the fire, promptly implement emergency measures, carry out rescue operations, and evacuate personnel while transporting the injured.

Following the drill, Zhang Shuqi, drawing on real-world cases, underscored the critical importance of workplace safety and urged the project team to further strengthen the development of model “Red Flag” safety teams and standardized construction sites, thereby projecting a positive image of a central state-owned enterprise and fulfilling its responsibilities in national and local development.
Through this fire safety awareness campaign and emergency evacuation drill, the staff of the Hubei Yanjing Project Department have further strengthened their fire safety consciousness and enhanced their ability to practice self-rescue and self-protection, as well as to evacuate safely, orderly, and swiftly in the event of an emergency.
