Recently, the first batch of model Party branches designated by the General Administration—the Second Party Branch of our institute (formerly the Mineral Exploration Geophysical Prospecting Party Branch)—organized its four sub‑groups—the Mineral Exploration Group, the Surveying and Mapping Group, the Geological Survey Group, and the Geophysical and Geochemical Prospecting Group—to hold, one after another, their inaugural meetings following the leadership transition, as well as themed Party‑day activities. During these events, they thoroughly conveyed and studied the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the important remarks delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the session.
Party members attending the meeting agreed that the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee was a highly significant gathering convened at a crucial historical juncture—when the decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects is within reach and the new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country is about to begin. Thoroughly studying the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session, deeply understanding and grasping the key tasks for economic and social development and reform and opening-up during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, is of great importance for identifying the right direction in the new era, effectively implementing the new development philosophy, and achieving sound and rapid development.
The meeting emphasized that the development of our own endeavors cannot rely on others’ impetus; we must proactively seize current market opportunities, adapt to the business environment, take a proactive and initiative‑driven approach in our work, dare to innovate, and boldly identify and resolve practical issues.
The meeting called on all Party members of the branch to regard studying and implementing the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee as an important task for the present and the period ahead, aligning their thinking and actions with the session’s guiding principles, and organizing and carrying out study and implementation efforts in light of actual production and business conditions. It is essential to infuse the political nature, seriousness, and enthusiasm of Party building into both work and daily life, fully leveraging its exemplary and leading role to ensure that Party building and business operations are mutually coordinated and reinforce one another. This will help continuously strengthen the competitiveness, innovation capacity, control, and influence of the state‑owned economy, enhance its resilience to risks, and strive to achieve excellence, strength, and scale.
The Second Party Branch has instructed all party subgroups to rigorously carry out oversight and inspection of the study and implementation of the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. Leading cadres who are party members are expected to set an example, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and guide departmental staff to enhance their competence and capabilities in light of actual production and work conditions.
