Recently, the fourth academic exchange and brand‑building event of our institute, themed “Youth Contribute to a New Era; Innovation, Creation, and Entrepreneurship Showcase New Achievements,” concluded successfully. Co‑organized by the Institute’s Department of Geological Science and Technology and the Youth League Committee, the event featured two presentation formats—paper submissions and PPT presentations—and, with broad participation from young staff members, ultimately selected 21 outstanding works to advance to the competitive stage.
At the event, each participant drew on their work in geology, geophysical exploration, surveying and mapping, as well as their experience in business management and marketing communications, to present their carefully prepared submissions—featuring a mix of text and visuals. They also engaged in in-depth discussions with the on-site expert reviewers. Following a comprehensive evaluation by the judging panel, 12 outstanding papers and PPT presentations were selected.
It is reported that this event, guided by the General Administration’s core values and centered on a skills competition, has created a platform for employees to showcase their talents and engage in mutual learning through academic exchanges and brand‑culture promotion. The initiative has strengthened participants’ practical application skills, creative thinking, and abilities in language organization and communication, with the aim of bolstering talent development and fostering well‑rounded employee growth. It also exemplifies the implementation of a “craftsman‑oriented” applied‑talent cultivation program that leverages competitions to drive learning.
Dean and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Diao Haizhong, Party Secretary and Vice Dean Wang Qingfeng, Chief Engineer Peng Mingzhang, along with geological experts, formed the review panel and attended the event. More than 30 people, including Liu Jianwen, Director of the Geological Science and Technology Department (Safety and Environmental Protection Department), Yang Xiaomin, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, the competing contestants, and heads of relevant departments, also took part in the event.
