In accordance with the requirements of the Party Committee’s “Notice on Convening Special Organizational Life Meetings and Conducting Democratic Assessments of Party Members,” on December 6, the Hydrology Party Branch of the Institute of Resources and Environment held a party organizational life meeting, engaged in criticism and self-criticism, and carried out democratic assessments of party members.
Prior to the meeting, in order to ensure that it achieved its intended outcomes, in accordance with the document’s requirements, branch committee members and party members engaged in extensive, in-depth discussions, exchanged candid feedback, and, through field visits and surveys, solicited broad input from the general public regarding the party group.
During the meeting, Yin Xiuzhen, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Resources, Environment, and Hydrology Division, on behalf of the branch, reviewed achievements and identified shortcomings in accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirements for “four comparisons” and “four self‑examinations,” conducted a thorough analysis, and summarized the branch’s Party‑building work over the past year.
Comrade Wang Qingfeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (in charge of Party work) and Vice President, pointed out: We must elevate our political awareness, integrate theory with practice, and conduct criticism and self-criticism; earnestly examine and analyze ourselves, squarely face problems, and “flush cheeks and break a sweat”; use Party building to drive production, deepen the integration between the two departments, and promote the sustainable development of the institution.
During the democratic evaluation of Party members, each member identifies shortcomings and areas for improvement in their studies, work, and daily life over the past year, engages in candid self-reflection and mutual criticism, and carefully completes the evaluation form. In accordance with the prescribed proportions, three outstanding Party members are then selected.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Comrade Sun Xinyong, Vice President of our institute, on behalf of the Party Committee, expressed full appreciation for the organizational life meeting. He noted that the meeting was thoroughly prepared in advance, with in-depth heart-to-heart talks conducted among the branch secretary and all party members, between the branch committee and its members, and among the members themselves. The theme of the meeting was clear and prominent, closely aligned with the overarching principle of “remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind.” In accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s requirements for the “four comparisons” and the “four self‑examinations,” party members reviewed their gains from participating in the thematic education campaign and identified gaps that deviate from their original aspirations and missions. The atmosphere was vigorous, with each member candidly scrutinizing their own conduct—“giving each other a gentle nudge,” “pulling up sleeves to address shortcomings,” and “taking a good look at themselves”—resulting in tangible outcomes characterized by frankness and earnest reflection. He also set forth several expectations: continue to strengthen study, taking Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guiding principle and the Party Constitution as the fundamental norm, while summarizing and incorporating the achievements of practical innovation; strike a proper balance between work and rest, ensuring reasonable arrangements for both life and work; for issues identified during the organizational life meeting, the branch and individual party members must squarely address their deficiencies, promptly rectifying those that can be corrected immediately, and formulating detailed remediation plans with corresponding timelines for matters requiring longer-term attention; and integrate Party building with project development in an organic manner, expanding the reach of Party‑building efforts and fully leveraging the branch’s roles as a coordinating hub, a vanguard, and a stronghold, so as to use Party building to drive project progress and usher in a new phase of innovative development for the institution.
