On December 2, the 1:50,000 regional mineral geological survey project for the Zhigou and Zhucheng sheets, a provincial-level geological exploration project undertaken by our institute in 2019, successfully passed the field acceptance inspection organized by the General Administration. The quality of the work was highly commended by the expert panel and the project leadership, and it was rated “Excellent” by the joint expert group comprising representatives from the General Administration and provincial geological exploration experts.

During this field acceptance, the expert panel conducted on-site inspections of selected geological mapping routes and geological sections, and carried out spot checks on trench construction, documentation, and sampling practices. Overall, the panel concluded that the fieldwork locations were appropriately situated, with clear on‑site markings at the starting points of the sections and trenches; stratigraphic layering, rock identification, and sampling intervals were all accurate. Furthermore, land reclamation efforts at the site were well executed, meeting the requirements for green exploration. At the project office, the expert panel heard a briefing on the project’s progress, reviewed various original records, and engaged in questioning and discussion.

The expert panel unanimously concluded that the project has successfully fulfilled the objectives and key deliverables stipulated in the task assignment, as well as the major physical work volumes approved in the design. All aspects of the project’s implementation comply with the design specifications and relevant standards; the methodologies employed are sound, and the overall quality of the work is satisfactory. The submitted original data are complete, and the project’s quality management and supporting measures are robust. Furthermore, all activities are in full compliance with the applicable geological survey standards and technical requirements. The expert panel unanimously agreed to pass the field acceptance, awarding the project a score of 92 points, which places it in the “Excellent” category.

Next, the project team will move into the indoor comprehensive research phase, prepare the deliverable report, and submit the final project outcomes as soon as possible.
