On December 18, Ju Jianhua, Director-General of the Department of Mineral Resources Protection and Supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources, accompanied by Li Keqiang, a second-level inspector at the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources, Zhao Dejian, Vice Mayor of Tai’an City, and relevant leaders from the Tai’an Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, paid a visit to our institute’s Tai’an Geothermal Resources Survey and Planning Project. Wang Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Shandong Institute, along with Sun Xinyong, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President, participated in the on-site inspection.

At the field‑survey site, Wang Qingfeng provided a detailed overview of the China National Chemical Corporation and the Shandong Institute, and outlined the key achievements of the geothermal resource survey and planning project undertaken by the Shandong Institute in Tai’an City. Wu Shumeng, Director of the Tai’an Geological Sub‑Institute, presented a comprehensive report on the major fieldwork completed by the project team and the specific activities carried out.
Ju Jianhua and his delegation conducted an in-depth inspection of the drilling project site and the on-site water‑discharge points, gaining a thorough understanding of the project’s construction progress and relevant data parameters. They commended the achievements made thus far and set forth requirements for the next phase of scientifically developing and sustainably utilizing geothermal resources, with the aim of transforming the region’s geothermal resource advantages into economic, social, and ecological benefits.

The “Taian City Geothermal Resource Survey and Planning Project” was a municipal-level geological exploration project for 2019. Shandong Institute won the bid and undertook its implementation. The project team successively carried out geothermal geological remote-sensing interpretation, geothermal geological surveys, geothermal gradient field investigations, and geophysical prospecting, thereby identifying the locations of three geothermal wells with particularly favorable anomalies. Among these, one well has a surface water temperature of 58.3°C and a bottom-hole water temperature of 63.4°C. Through quality assessment of the geothermal fluids and evaluation of the feasibility of exploration, utilization, and protection, the project has laid a solid foundation for subsequent exploration and development activities.
