— The Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) convened the 2020 Democratic Life Meeting for Party-member leading cadres.

On January 26, the Party Committee of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau held its 2020 democratic life meeting for party-member leading cadres. Fan Baoying, head of the Bureau’s Second Supervision Group, attended the meeting and provided comments and guidance. Yan Zhengguang, deputy head of the supervision group, along with member Chen Ming, also supervised the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Shang Honglin, Party Secretary and Chairman (Director) of the Group (Bureau).

The Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) attached great importance to this democratic life meeting, set forth overarching requirements for conducting a high‑quality annual session, and formulated the “Implementation Plan for the 2020 Democratic Life Meeting of Party Member Leading Cadres.” It also specified concrete guidelines for each stage—study and discussion, candid exchanges, solicitation of opinions, and self‑examination and analysis—thereby ensuring thorough preparatory work for a high‑quality meeting.

At the meeting, members of the Party and administrative leadership team of the Group (Bureau) closely adhered to the theme: “Earnestly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen political development, enhance political competence, remain committed to the people, secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieving the First Centenary Goal, and embark on a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country.” They took the leadership team, themselves, their thinking, and their responsibilities as the focal points, systematically reviewed each item against the five areas of focus, identified problems one by one, conducted thorough analyses, pinpointed the most salient issues, and carried out in-depth self‑examination of their Party spirit. Through candid criticism and sincere self‑criticism, they achieved the objectives of aligning thinking, clarifying direction, and rallying strength.

Fan Baoying commented that the Party Committee of the China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation conducted its democratic life meeting with thorough preparation: the principal leaders took personal charge, and all members of the leadership team worked in concert. By “studying the original works and texts and grasping the underlying principles,” they deepened their ideological understanding; by fully implementing the requirement of “four mandatory talks,” they further fostered open communication and built consensus. Drawing on the opinions and suggestions collected, the principal officials meticulously chaired the drafting of the leadership team’s self-examination and对照检查 materials, while each member carefully prepared their individual speaking outlines. The mutual criticism was targeted, to the point, and addressed both people and issues, revealing both character and thought. The exchanges were both incisive and sincere, imbued with genuine camaraderie and a spirit of mutual assistance, thus creating a positive atmosphere of interactive dialogue and achieving the goal of unity–criticism–unity.

Fan Baoying emphasized the need to steadfastly advance the extensive study, widespread dissemination, and thorough implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He stressed that studying and implementing the spirit of the General Secretary’s important speeches, instructions, and directives should be the top priority at Party committee meetings, ensuring that strengthening the “Four Consciousnesses,” bolstering the “Four Confidences,” and upholding the “Two Safeguards” are consciously internalized in thought and translated into concrete actions. It is essential to continuously tighten the screws and wind up the mechanisms, integrating the rectification of issues identified in this democratic life meeting with all tasks related to inspection‑based corrections. Measures must be refined, institutional frameworks strengthened, and shortcomings addressed so as to ensure tangible results. With the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the fifth anniversary of the National Conference on Party Building in State‑Owned Enterprises approaching, we must keep innovating in our approaches to Party building—renewing our concepts, mechanisms, and methods—while extending Party‑building efforts to the grassroots level, deepening their reach, and expanding into new industries and fields where state capital is present. In this way, we will continue to translate the requirements of comprehensively and strictly governing the Party into concrete outcomes.

Shang Honglin concluded by stating that the Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) will steadfastly uphold Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guiding principle, earnestly study and implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and translate the outcomes of this study into a heightened political consciousness to strengthen the “Four Consciousnesses,” bolster the “Four Confidences,” and ensure the “Two Upholds.” It will also turn these insights into an inexhaustible source of motivation for upholding our original aspiration and mission, and into concrete actions that contribute to the new era, strive for new achievements, and advance the high-quality development of the Group (Bureau). Furthermore, it will systematically summarize, refine, and effectively apply the issues raised at democratic life meetings, using the effectiveness of addressing practical problems as the benchmark for evaluating its work. Starting from specific tasks and concrete issues, it will distill sound approaches to problem-solving into institutional frameworks, integrate the strengthening of institutional development with the enhancement of institutional enforcement, and ensure that institutional building is fully embedded in every aspect of Party governance, thereby comprehensively elevating the capacity and level of Party self-governance and comprehensive strict Party discipline.

Shang Honglin emphasized that the Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) will earnestly fulfill its role in setting the direction, overseeing the overall situation, and ensuring effective implementation. It will carefully analyze the current landscape, clearly recognize existing shortcomings, and uphold the spirit of “diligent oxen serving the people, pioneering oxen driving innovation, and hardworking oxen forging ahead.” By performing its duties conscientiously and striving to achieve outstanding results, the Party Committee will, with unwavering confidence and steadfast determination, unite and lead the broad ranks of Party members, cadres, and employees to make a strong start to the 14th Five-Year Plan, fully exercising its leadership core role and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with remarkable achievements.
