Recently, Mingda Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd. signed a university–enterprise cooperation agreement with Beijing University of Technology. Tian Li, Deputy General Manager of the Group (Bureau), Deputy Director, and Party Secretary and Chairman of Mingda Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd., along with Zhang Jian, Dean of the Institute of Survey and Design at Beijing University of Technology, attended the signing ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the industry–university–research base.
Tian Li stated that Mingda Ocean places great emphasis on its collaboration with Beijing University of Technology. The company’s strength is inseparable from talent, and as a model enterprise for scientific‑technological reform, Mingda Ocean relies even more heavily on the support and expertise of universities. He expressed the hope that the company will integrate its operational and production experience in geotechnical engineering and geological hazard mitigation with the university’s research achievements, cultivate multidisciplinary professionals through industry‑university‑research partnerships, translate research outcomes into productive applications, and drive technological advancement.
Zhang Jian visited the exhibition hall of Sinochem Mingda and highly commended the company’s achievements across such business segments as mineral exploration, mining development, underground engineering, and ecological environmental protection. Zhang Jian stated that the university attaches great importance to this collaboration, will fully leverage its institutional strengths and technological capabilities, and, in close alignment with the enterprise’s production and operational needs, enhance the practical relevance of its teaching and research while accelerating the translation of scientific findings into real-world applications.
The two parties will jointly promote the sharing of resources between universities and enterprises, deepen new models of industry–university–research collaboration, and foster a favorable environment in which technological advancement is driven by industry and researchers can apply their knowledge in practice. This will support the high-quality, sustainable development of both sides and contribute to the technological progress of the engineering sector.
