On June 8, Jinan experienced its first heatwave of the summer. At field sites, the institute’s technical staff braved the scorching sun, steadfastly holding their posts to ensure that all operations proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner. Wang Qingfeng, Party Secretary and Vice President, along with Sun Xinyong, Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union, led a team to inspect and offer encouragement at the pilot project for backfilling iron‑ore shafts in Zhangqing District, Jinan, undertaken by the Geological Survey Branch. This visit marked the inaugural stop of the institute’s trade union’s “Bask in the Party’s Kindness, Follow the Party, Bring Cool Relief, and Strive Together” outreach campaign.
The hospital leadership delivered cooling herbal teas, Huoxiang Zhengqi Water, zongzi, and other heat‑relief supplies along with monetary condolences to staff working on the front lines. They extended their sympathies and gratitude to the technical personnel enduring the sweltering conditions, urging them to remain vigilant about safety protocols in high‑temperature environments and to take proactive measures to prevent accidents and heat‑related illnesses. Li Zheng, Deputy Director of the Geological Science and Technology Department (Safety and Environmental Protection Department), conducted an inspection and issued reminders regarding on‑site labor protection measures and precautions for combating the heat.
In recent years, our institute has consistently carried out the “Summer Coolness, Winter Warmth” campaign, extending the institute’s care and condolences to frontline employees, boosting morale, and enhancing their enthusiasm and initiative at work. Under the leadership of the Party Committee, the institute’s trade union has actively implemented the outcomes of Party history study and education, inviting key personnel from various functional departments to go “up the mountains and down to the countryside” and provide on‑site services. This has established a platform for exchange and learning between business units and functional departments, ensuring that all efforts are devoted to delivering tangible benefits to staff and workers, continuously stimulating their intrinsic motivation and vitality, and promoting greater delegation of authority, improved regulation, and enhanced service in functional departments. As a result, business operations and management services are advancing in tandem, fostering shared development and jointly paving the way for a bright future for Shandong Institute.
Yang Xiaomin, Vice Chair of the Trade Union and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, along with Yin Yujing, Director of the Assets and Finance Department, attended the慰问. At the project site, in accordance with the procedures for developing Party members, Wang Qingfeng, Party Secretary and Vice President, also held a pre‑admission interview with Chen Gang, a candidate for Party membership and Director of the Institute of Geological Survey.
