Our institute has been awarded numerous honors and accolades by the Group (Bureau).

Recently, the Group (Bureau) held its first-half economic performance analysis meeting, its third Science and Technology Innovation Conference, and a thematic sharing session commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.

At the first-half economic performance meeting, the Group (Bureau) conveyed the spirit of the seminar convened by the China National Coal Administration on studying and implementing the important speech delivered on July 1, read out the 2020 performance appraisal results for heads of directly affiliated units, and commended units that achieved high-quality development. Our institute was awarded the Second Prize in the “2020 High-Quality Development Award,” and Dean and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Diao Haizhong delivered a presentation on best practices in business management on behalf of our institute.

At the Science and Technology Innovation Conference, our institute was recognized as an “Advanced Unit for Scientific and Technological Innovation for the 2019–2020 Period,” while Qi Xiequan was awarded the honorary title of “Advanced Individual in Scientific and Technological Innovation for the 2019–2020 Period.” Yin Xiuzhen, serving as the chief expert, received the appointment letter from the Group (Bureau). At the thematic sharing session commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Zhang Hailiang was conferred the Group (Bureau)’s honorific title of “Model Worker.”

The Group (Bureau) also presented awards for the “Geological Science and Technology Award,” the “Patent Application Award,” and the “Patent Grant Award,” among others. Our institute’s project, “Investigation, Evaluation, and Application of Ground Subsidence in Jinan City, Shandong Province,” was awarded First Prize in the “Geological Science and Technology Progress Award”; four projects, including the “Engineering Investigation for the Comprehensive Remediation Project at the Zhanghua Factory Site,” received Second Prize in the same category; and the “Detailed Exploration of the Mesí Graphite Deposit in the Nipepe Area, District 5334L, Niassa Province, Mozambique” was granted First Prize in the “Geological Prospecting Achievement Award,” while the “Iron Ore Reconnaissance Survey (Continuation) in the Dazhang Area, Qihe County, Shandong Province” was awarded Second Prize in that category. Furthermore, Qi Xiequan, Li Yinzhen, Yu Mingguang, Qiu Guanghui, and Wang Jiguo—five individuals in total—were recognized as the first inventors on multiple patent applications submitted by our institute and were presented with the 2020 “Patent Application Award”; similarly, Qi Xiequan, Li Yinzhen, Song Huijun, Duan Najin, and Wang Juan—also five persons—were honored as the first inventors on several patents granted to our institute and were bestowed the 2020 “Patent Grant Award.”
In addition, our institute was awarded four scientific and technological achievements: the First Prize for High-Quality Geological Exploration Reports, the First Prize for High-Quality Professional Geological Reports, the Second Prize for High-Quality Professional Geological Reports from the China National Coal Association, and the First Prize for Outstanding Survey and Design from the Shandong Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association—each of which also received recognition and awards from the Group (Bureau).

This time, our institute and individual staff members have been honored with multiple awards, which represent high recognition of our institution’s high‑quality development and its efforts in scientific and technological innovation over recent years. Moving forward, we will thoroughly implement the spirit of the Group (Bureau)’s first‑half‑year economic performance analysis meeting and the Third Science and Technology Innovation Conference—particularly the important remarks delivered by Pan Shuren, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the China National Bureau of Coal Geology; Shang Honglin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board, and Director of the Group (Bureau); and Liu Xingwang, General Manager of the Group (Bureau), Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Deputy Director. We will continue to earnestly apply the new development philosophy and the innovation‑driven strategy, further accelerate transformation and upgrading as well as the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and proactively cultivate our institute’s core competitiveness, thereby making new and even greater contributions to advancing the Group (Bureau)’s high‑quality development during the 14th Five‑Year Plan period.
