August 29 marked the 18th National Surveying and Mapping Law Publicity Day. To further strengthen publicity on surveying and mapping laws, disseminate legal knowledge in this field, ensure the proper use of maps, and enhance public awareness of surveying and mapping work, the Second Party Branch organized a themed Party Day activity titled “Use Maps Properly—Not a Single Error Allowed.”
In response to epidemic prevention and control requirements, this event was conducted online. Through a WeChat work group, participants were provided with relevant knowledge about the Surveying and Mapping Law, accompanied by illustrative materials. This approach enabled comprehensive, multi‑faceted outreach to branch members, promoting awareness of national territorial integrity and related surveying and mapping laws and regulations. Participants were encouraged to further enhance their sense of national territorial responsibility, consciously resist “problematic maps,” and use maps in compliance with applicable standards.
Through this themed Party Day activity, effective integration between professional expertise and Party building work was fostered, with innovative approaches leveraging Party building to advance professional development. This further enhanced the awareness of Party members and prospective Party members within the branch regarding the Surveying and Mapping Law, effectively disseminated knowledge of surveying and mapping laws and related scientific and technological advances, and helped create a favorable legal environment for the development of surveying and mapping and geographic information services at our institute.
