　　Fangchenggang is a major port along China’s coastline near ASEAN, an important hub in the national integrated transportation system, the core gateway port of the Beibu Gulf, and the southern terminus of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. As such, it enjoys a uniquely advantageous strategic position, a favorable geographic location, and abundant resource endowments that are well-suited to developing a maritime‑oriented economy.

　　On September 24, Shang Honglin, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board, and Director of the Group (Bureau), paid a courtesy visit to Tan Pichuang, Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Fangchenggang City, accompanied by Tang Yunsu, Party Secretary and Director of the Human Resources and Social Security Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The two sides held a symposium to discuss the next steps and areas for cooperation, with Huang Jiang, Acting Mayor of Fangchenggang City, also in attendance.

　　Tan Pichuang welcomed the arrival of Shang Honglin and Tang Yunsu’s delegation, briefly outlining Fangchenggang City’s economic and social development. Tan Pichuang pointed out that Fangchenggang City enjoys distinct advantages along its coastline and border, including favorable transportation, strategic location, supportive policies, and abundant resources, with clear late‑comer advantages. Currently, the city is firmly focused on implementing the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the Autonomous Region, accelerating the establishment of a modern industrial system anchored in green manufacturing, supported by modern logistics, and led by modern services. In its strategic plan to grow and strengthen green manufacturing, Fangchenggang City is committed to expanding, upgrading, and reinforcing its port‑adjacent green heavy industry, concentrating on pillar sectors such as steel, copper, aluminum, and grain and oil processing. The city is also carrying out targeted initiatives to transform and upgrade traditional industries, bolster supply chains, and extend industrial chains, driving the high‑end, intelligent, and green development of these key sectors, continuously enhancing industrial value added while reducing energy consumption per unit. At the same time, leveraging its port‑related resource advantages, Fangchenggang is vigorously developing bulk cargo and cold‑chain container transport, thereby supporting the construction of the New Western Land‑Sea Corridor. Tan Pichuang stated that the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau possesses strengths in capital, technology, and talent, and expressed hope that both sides will seize opportunities, deepen cooperation, and make full use of both domestic and international markets and resources to jointly develop an international mineral‑product trading center based in Guangxi and oriented toward ASEAN; foster equipment manufacturing in marine, wind power, and mining sectors; and strengthen collaboration in finance and other fields, achieving mutually beneficial development. Fangchenggang City, for its part, pledged to provide all necessary support and services.

　　Shang Honglin extended his congratulations on the achievements made in Fangchenggang City’s economic and social development, and briefly outlined our group (bureau)’s development history, core business areas, and talent pool. He noted that, in line with the spirit of the agreement between our group (bureau) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Oceanic Bureau, Sinochem Mingda has established the Sinochem Marine Geology Branch in Guangxi, thereby integrating into the region’s marine‑oriented economic development. Fangchenggang City boasts a favorable geographic location and high‑quality natural resources and an enabling environment, offering ample room for growth. Moving forward, our group (bureau) will strengthen coordination and exchanges with Fangchenggang City, identify strategic entry points for cooperation aligned with the city’s development plan, and leverage the advantages of a central state‑owned enterprise—its platform, human resources, technology, financial resources, and research‑innovation capabilities—to contribute to the city’s economic development. At the same time, we look forward to engaging with the Fangchenggang Municipal Government in exploring and studying key collaborative projects, such as jointly building the “Sinochem Mingda Fangchenggang International Mining Industry Park” and establishing the “Fangchenggang Marine‑Economy Development Fund.”

　　Tang Yunsu stated that he welcomes the China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau to invest and start businesses in Guangxi. The Autonomous Region’s Department of Human Resources and Social Security will actively implement favorable policies and provide robust support services. He also expressed hope that Fangchenggang City will adhere to a people-centered development philosophy, leverage industrial investment to stimulate employment, ensure stable and secure jobs, and enhance the public’s sense of gain and happiness.
