Recently, the Geological Science and Technology Project Management System of the China National Bureau of Coal Geology has officially gone live. To help the Group (Bureau) headquarters and all directly affiliated units’ geological statisticians quickly become familiar with system operations, standardize data reporting, and enhance statistical efficiency, the Group (Bureau) held a video training session on the project management system on the morning of November 12, 2021. The training was organized by the Department of Geological Science and Technology, and the Group (Bureau) Chief Engineer Jiao Sen attended and delivered a speech.
The training session featured three engineers from the China Coal Aviation Survey and Remote Sensing Bureau, who are responsible for developing the geological science and technology project management system. They provided detailed explanations and conducted hands-on demonstrations on system modules, project information entry, and outcome reporting, while also engaging in online interactive discussions and answering participants’ questions regarding common challenges encountered during the data‑entry process.
Jiao Sen emphasized that all directly affiliated units must recognize the critical importance of statistical work and elevate their level of attention; they should continuously refine the statistical management system characterized by unified leadership and tiered accountability, firmly assign responsibilities, and clearly define the entities responsible; furthermore, they must strengthen learning and training to enhance professional competence, ensuring that reported data are accurate, timely, and grounded in factual reality.
This training session deepened the geological statistics team’s understanding of statistical work, equipping participants with the ability to approach statistical analysis through an information‑driven mindset, thereby providing strong support for advancing the Group (Bureau)’s geological statistics toward greater timeliness and accuracy.
More than 90 participants, including leaders in charge of statistical work, review and management personnel, and data‑entry staff from the Group’s (Bureau’s) Geological Science and Technology Department and all directly affiliated units, attended this training session.
