Recently, the China National Bureau of Coal Geology issued the “Decision of the Party Committee of the China National Bureau of Coal Geology on Commending ‘Civilized Units of the Bureau for the 2019–2020 Period’” (Document No. Zhongmei Di Dang Fa Xuan Chuan [2021] No. 119). Our bureau, together with the Zhejiang Institute, the Geological Research Institute, and the Hunan Institute—three directly affiliated units—were awarded the title of “Civilized Unit of the Bureau for the 2019–2020 Period.” This marks the second consecutive year that our bureau and these three affiliated units have received this honor.

For a long time, our bureau has attached great importance to the development of spiritual civilization and the building of model units. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we have taken cultivating and practicing the core socialist values as our fundamental principle, used the creation of model units as our key initiative, and relied on institutional and mechanism reforms as our guarantee. We have worked diligently to integrate this work into Party building, innovative development, cultural enrichment, and public service, striving to establish a long-term mechanism for advancing spiritual civilization. By carrying out a wide range of activities to promote spiritual civilization, we have fostered a strong atmosphere throughout the bureau—“everyone participates in the effort, and everyone shares its benefits”—thereby effectively enhancing both the civilizational quality of our staff and the overall level of civility across the organization.

The development of spiritual civilization is an ongoing endeavor. This year’s re‑award of the General Administration’s title as a Model Unit for Spiritual Civilization once again affirms our bureau’s efforts in this area. Taking this as an opportunity, we will further deepen and enhance our work in fostering spiritual civilization, unite as one, pursue practical results through diligent action, and forge ahead with innovation. We will actively cultivate a distinctive brand of spiritual‑civilization development that reflects our bureau’s unique character, thereby continuously boosting the sense of happiness, fulfillment, and satisfaction among our staff, building a harmonious enterprise, projecting a civilized image, and driving innovative progress to write a new chapter.
