In recent days, temperatures have plummeted. To ensure the smooth continuation of fieldwork, the field personnel of the Geological Survey Institute have braved the bitter cold and remained steadfast at their posts.
To convey the organization’s care and warmth, on February 18, a delegation including Sun Xinyong, Vice President of our institute, Jia Ruifeng, head of the trade union, and Chen Gang, Director of the Geological Survey Branch, visited the construction site of the Qinglongshan IV Mining Area in Pingyin County. They paid a heartfelt visit to the field workers who remain on the front lines, extended their sincere condolences and gratitude, and presented them with daily necessities and warm gestures from the Shandong Institute family.
During the exchange, the institute’s leadership gained a thorough understanding of the project’s progress, as well as the issues and challenges it faces. They expressed high appreciation for the frontline field personnel’s unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in enduring the severe cold, and carefully reminded them to take adequate measures to stay warm and ensure construction safety.
In recent years, our institute has consistently organized grassroots outreach and warmth‑sending initiatives, significantly boosting the enthusiasm and motivation of field staff. Members of the project team stated that, in the new year, they will certainly transform the care and support of the institute’s leadership into a driving force for their work, making new and even greater contributions to Shandong Institute through concrete actions.
The Pingyin County Green Mining Demonstration Park Project was undertaken by the Geological Survey Branch at the request of the Pingyin County Bureau of Natural Resources, in accordance with the requirements set forth in the Ministry of Natural Resources General Office’s “Notice on Conducting Follow-up Inspections of Green Mines” and the Shandong Provincial Department of Natural Resources’ “Notice on Strengthening Dynamic Management of the Green Mine Registry.” Based on the “Evaluation Indicators for Green Mine Construction,” the Geological Survey Branch conducted a comprehensive review—covering 100 specific criteria across seven key areas: prerequisite conditions, mine‑site environment, resource development practices, comprehensive resource utilization, energy conservation and emissions reduction, scientific and technological innovation and smart mining, as well as enterprise management and corporate image—of mines in Pingyin County that have already been verified and registered as green mines. For each item, the team assessed the ongoing compliance since the third‑party evaluation, provided detailed explanations to the mines regarding any non‑conformities, and documented these findings in written reports. At the same time, leveraging its technical expertise, the Branch put forward practical recommendations for further improving and upgrading the green mines.
