To actively cultivate and practice the core socialist values, vigorously promote the spirit of Lei Feng and the volunteer ethos of “dedication, friendship, mutual assistance, and progress,” and foster a positive atmosphere of striving for excellence and moral integrity throughout our hospital, at the initiative of the hospital’s trade union and Youth League Committee, on March 4, our hospital organized a Lei Feng–inspired volunteer service event titled “Relay for Life, Donate Blood for Love.”
In accordance with the blood‑collection requirements issued by the Shandong Provincial Blood Donation Office during the COVID‑19 pandemic, and to ensure blood quality and transfusion safety, participating colleagues entered the mobile blood‑collection vehicle in staggered groups as arranged by medical staff, conscientiously and orderly cooperating with healthcare professionals throughout registration, physical examination, laboratory testing, and blood collection. Following initial screening, eight of the 11 employees who donated met the eligibility criteria, resulting in a total donation volume of 3,000 milliliters.
Voluntary blood donation is a noble act of selfless dedication, saving lives and helping the injured. Staff members of our hospital enthusiastically participated in this volunteer service activity in honor of Lei Feng, pooling their small contributions of blood to build a vital barrier that sustains life. Through concrete actions, they have carried forward the spirit of Lei Feng, demonstrating the sense of responsibility and commitment of Shandong Hospital’s employees. It is reported that among those who donated blood, several staff members have already given blood nearly ten times, while many others had previously volunteered to donate blood on their own initiative.
Going forward, our institute will further institutionalize volunteer service, encouraging all Party members, cadres, and staff to actively engage in public welfare, serve society, and dedicate themselves to the community, thereby contributing their due share to building China into a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful socialist modern power.
