By day, he supervised construction quality and progress on site; by night, he reviewed relevant literature. During this trip to Laos, the pandemic was at its peak, posing significant challenges to all aspects of the work—particularly in procuring and transporting spare parts and materials. Urgent on-site components sourced from China arrived too slowly, while local procurement proved equally difficult. Faced with this dilemma, Zhang Xianfeng and his colleagues visited hardware stores one by one; when exact replacements were unavailable, they diligently sought suitable alternatives. At the same time, he and his team maintained close ties with local Chinese merchants, leveraging their networks to secure additional materials and components, thereby ensuring the project stayed on schedule and was completed as planned.
During his two stints working on projects in Laos, he endured countless hardships and challenges. In particular, he remained on the front lines of overseas projects during both the 2019 and 2022 Spring Festivals, ensuring that the projects progressed as scheduled. On his second overseas assignment, his daughter was not yet a hundred days old; now she is over one year old and can walk. Zhang Xianfeng has channeled his months of longing for his family and child into unwavering dedication to his work, quietly devoting his youth and energy to the growth of his organization.
