Welcoming the 20th National Congress and Striding Forward on a New Journey — The Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) Held a Commemorative Conference Marking the 101st Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and an Awards Ceremony for “Two Excellences and One Pioneer”

On July 6, the Party Committee of the Group (Bureau) convened a video‑conference to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and to confer awards under the “Two Excellences and One Pioneer” initiative. The Party Secretary, Chairman, and Director of the Group (Bureau) attended the meeting and delivered a Party lecture. Liu Xingwang, Deputy Party Secretary, General Manager, and Deputy Director, read out the list of awardees, while Wang Yong, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the proceedings. Members of the Party Committee—Chen Haiyong, Tian Li, Jiao Sen, and Diao Haizhong—also attended the meeting.
The conference commended 27 exemplary primary-level Party organizations, 31 outstanding Communist Party members, and 27 outstanding Party affairs workers. Comrades Huang Xiaoyi, Xiang Wenyuan, Wang Juan, and others delivered exchange speeches on behalf of the exemplary primary-level Party organizations, the outstanding Communist Party members, and the Party affairs workers, respectively. The conference also held a collective “political birthday” celebration for those who joined the Communist Party of China around the time of July 1.
At the meeting, Comrade Shang Honglin delivered a special Party lecture on the theme of “high-quality development,” addressing three key aspects: what high-quality development entails, why it is necessary, and how it can be achieved.
Shang Honglin pointed out that high-quality development is a state of development—a dynamic process characterized by the continuous transformation of the economic growth model, the ongoing optimization of the economic structure, and the successive evolution of development drivers. It is dictated by the inherent laws of economic development and entails an organic integration of scale, speed, quality, and efficiency. High-quality development is both an indispensable requirement for sustaining sustained and sound economic growth and an inevitable imperative for adhering to the principles governing economic development. In the new stage of development, high-quality development is no longer a matter of whether or not to pursue it or whether one is willing to do so; rather, it is a task that must be undertaken—and undertaken well.
Shang Honglin emphasized: The China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau was founded in the early years of the People’s Republic of China, reorganized in the 1960s and 1970s, and developed throughout the 1980s and 1990s. From nothing to something, and from small to large, it has undergone a tortuous development process marked by three rises, two falls, and one adjustment. Comprehensively deepening reform is the only path for us to achieve high-quality development. Whether viewed from historical evolution, national strategic priorities, or our own developmental needs, we are compelled to accelerate transformation and upgrading and pursue a path of high-quality development.
Shang Honglin put forward his thoughts and recommendations on advancing the Group’s (Bureau’s) high-quality development, emphasizing the importance of steadfastly upholding the Party’s overall leadership, vigorously promoting the construction of an industrial system, prioritizing scientific and technological innovation, continuously deepening internal reforms, consistently enhancing management standards, and rigorously controlling development risks—thereby providing a clear roadmap for the Group (Bureau) to become an industry‑leading enterprise in resource development and ecological conservation.
Following the meeting, all attendees jointly reaffirmed their oath of admission to the Party.
More than 300 participants attended the meeting, including senior executives of the Group (Bureau), heads of headquarters departments and secretaries of Party branches, as well as leadership teams, Party branch secretaries (and members), all staff of Party affairs departments, and Party member representatives from each directly affiliated unit.
