Our hospital convened a special meeting on technical and quality management.


To comprehensively enhance our institute’s capacity for scientific and technological innovation, elevate the level of technical quality management, institutionalize and standardize project management and the system for managing technological achievements, and thereby support the institute’s high-quality development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, our institute convened a meeting on technical quality management on July 29. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Engineer Li Yinzhen, along with 15 technical leaders from the Department of Geological Science and Technology and various departments under the institute.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of relevant documents issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the provincial department, the General Administration, and our institute regarding technical quality, project management, and scientific and technological innovation, and set forth clear requirements for our institute’s work on qualification development, the building of science-and‑technology innovation teams, and the submission of data and documentation.

At the meeting, participants exchanged views on our institute’s work in scientific and technological innovation and technical quality management. The technical heads of each department, drawing on their practical experience, identified existing issues and challenges in technical quality management and put forward constructive recommendations for improving our institute’s current technical management practices. Liu Jianwen, Director of the Geological Science and Technology Department, provided timely responses to all questions raised and outlined follow-up improvement plans and related measures covering field safety, technical quality, document archiving, and scientific and technological innovation. He emphasized the need to ensure that technical management is standardized and proceduralized.

Deputy Chief Engineer Li Yinzhen reported on the common issues identified during recent technical and quality inspections, and, on behalf of the Institute’s Chief Engineer Peng Mingzhang, delivered a concluding address. He emphasized that all departments must attach great importance to and effectively strengthen technical and quality management. While ensuring robust production and operations, they should deeply integrate technical and quality management and scientific‑technological innovation with business activities, enhance the standardization and regularization of project‑level technical and quality control, intensify efforts in scientific and technological innovation, and drive the Institute’s technical and quality management as well as its innovation initiatives to achieve new breakthroughs and reach new heights.

This conference served as both a briefing and implementation meeting for our institute’s 2022 technical quality management and scientific‑technological innovation efforts, as well as a strategic planning and execution forum fostering in‑depth communication between the Geological Science and Technology Department and the business units. Acting as a comprehensive “health check” of our institute’s technical quality management and innovation initiatives, the meeting laid out a clear roadmap for effectively advancing all subsequent tasks. Moving forward, our institute will continue to strengthen talent development and technical exchanges, bolster scientific and technological innovation, expand into new areas, and enhance technical quality management, thereby delivering a satisfactory outcome in this year—designated as the “Year of Quality and Innovation Enhancement”—for our geological science and technology endeavors.
