Our hospital hosted a cultural and artistic event to celebrate the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and to mark the Double Ninth Festival.

To warmly welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the institute’s founding, and as the National Day and Double Ninth Festival approach, our institute leveraged the leading role of Party building to successfully host, on September 29 at the Tai’an base, a cultural performance titled “Welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress: Senior Citizens with Devoted Hearts Follow the Party; Joyfully Celebrating the Double Ninth Festival and Commemorating 50 Years of the Institute’s Founding.” Wang Qingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the institute, Yang Cheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, along with responsible officials from the Party and Mass Work Department and the Logistics Service Center, attended the performance and joined the veteran colleagues in celebrating this festive occasion. To promote joint Party building and collaborative development within the community, the event also invited Wang Yanhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Yingtaoyuan Community in Daiyue District, Tai’an City, to attend the performance and provide guidance on related work.

Wang Qingfeng, on behalf of the institute’s Party and administrative leadership, extended festive greetings to the veteran colleagues, expressed heartfelt gratitude for their longstanding contributions to the development of Shandong Institute, and urged them to continue to show concern for and support the institute’s reform and development, to offer constructive advice and suggestions, and to share their experience and expertise, thereby contributing to the institute’s high-quality development in the new era.

Thunderous applause and fluttering colorful banners marked the opening of the first act, “The Most Beautiful Sunset Glow,” with the diabolo troupe’s performance of “Dragons Soar, Phoenixes Dance, Red Flags Flutter.” Diabolo spinning, Tai Chi, Wudang sword dancing, and poetic recitations—our senior comrades, full of vigor and passion, displayed a vitality that belied their years, earning repeated rounds of enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The festive music and cheers drew wave after wave of spectators. Guided by staff from the Tai’an base and volunteers from the Fourth Party Branch, attendees rigorously adhered to epidemic prevention measures and event guidelines: they wore masks, scanned health codes and had their temperatures checked in an orderly manner, and watched the performance in a civilized and respectful manner.

The resounding beats of the drums and the rousing melodies filled the air as, in the waist-drum dance performance “Love My China,” participants took to the stage one after another. A vibrant array of more than a dozen acts was tightly choreographed, delivering a feast of dazzling highlights. The fitness dance burst with dynamic energy and radiant flair; the cheongsam runway exuded youthful chic; the hulusi sang with tender, flowing grace; the saxophone resonated with deep, full-bodied warmth; the instrumental ensemble conveyed tradition with understated elegance; the waltz danced with graceful poise; and the grand chorus soared with majestic grandeur... In the second act, “Joyful Songs and Graceful Dances Celebrating the Motherland,” these dozen-plus performances kept building one thrilling climax after another, earning wave after wave of applause.

Finally, all the performers and staff waved the national flag and, with resounding voices and heartfelt sincerity, offered their blessings to the great motherland and to the geological profession they have cherished throughout their lives. Amidst the stirring melodies of “Me and My Motherland” and “The Song of the Exploration Team,” and in an atmosphere brimming with joy, enthusiasm, and soaring spirit, the cultural gala drew to a perfect close.

On the Double Ninth Festival, we express our deep respect and reaffirm our original aspirations. Our retired colleagues have dedicated their youth to the cause of geological exploration; now, in their golden years, they remain steadfastly loyal to the Party, their spirit undimmed by retirement. In a short span of time, they meticulously organized and earnestly rehearsed, delivering a high‑caliber cultural performance that vividly conveyed their heartfelt excitement at welcoming the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Their performance fully showcased the positive, upward‑looking spirit of our veteran comrades, earning unanimous praise from the local community, our institute’s leadership, and the audience present.
Following the event, our institute also distributed Chongyang Festival gifts on-site to senior colleagues aged 60 and above, wishing them good health and a happy, fulfilling life.
