Ecological Restoration of Territorial Space in Feicheng City Center By委托, our unit (Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau) is now conducting an investigation into the soil contamination status of Plot No. 05 in the 23rd batch of urban construction land in Feicheng City for 2011, as well as part of Plot No. 07 in the 4th batch of construction land in 2012.
1 Project Overview and Basic Information
Plot No. I05
The surveyed plot has a land area of 33,614.5 m². 2 The original land use designations for the parcel were irrigated land, other forestland, rural residential land, and land designated for commercial and service facilities.
According to the “Notice on Planning Conditions for Plot No. 05 of the Twenty-Third Batch of Urban Construction Land in Feicheng City, 2011” 》 (Finance and Regulation Document No. [2022]047) proposes to reclassify the surveyed land parcel as commercial‑residential use. The land is categorized as Class I land.
Part of Parcel No. Ⅱ07
The surveyed plot has a land area of 9,313.73 m². 2 , The original land use of the parcel was cultivated land and rural residential land.
Notice on Planning Conditions for Certain Parcels of Land No. 07 in the Fourth Batch of Construction Land in Feicheng City, 2012 》 (Finance and Regulation Document No. [2022]64) proposes to reclassify the surveyed land parcel as residential land for housing development. The land is categorized as Class I land use.
2 , Survey Results
Based on the preliminary site reconnaissance and interviews, no industrial enterprises are present on the site, and there is no historical record of the disposal of hazardous waste or other pollutants. The sources of soil stockpiles and construction‑generated waste on the site are clearly identified, and the intended building uses are well defined. No suspected pollution sources were detected within the site. According to the analysis of the rapid soil screening results, total chromium, arsenic, lead, copper, and nickel were all detected at varying concentrations; these findings show no significant differences when compared with the control sampling points. Similarly, the rapid screening data for volatile organic compounds indicate comparable concentration levels, with no notable discrepancies relative to the control sites. At this stage, within a 1,000‑meter radius around the site, there are no key‑industry facilities or heavily polluting enterprises, nor are there any readily mobile contaminants; thus, the surrounding environment has only a minimal potential to influence contamination at this site. Furthermore, neither the site nor its immediate surroundings have experienced any environmental emergencies or pollution incidents.
3 , Conclusions and Recommendations
The land parcels within the scope of this investigation are not classified as contaminated sites and therefore do not need to be subject to contamination‑site management. The risk to human health is negligible, so no further detailed investigation of the contamination status is required, and the soil contamination assessment may be concluded. The findings of this investigation are based on the site’s existing conditions and current assessment criteria. Should the land use designation or the applicable assessment standards change in the future, the existing investigation conclusions should be reassessed, and, if necessary, a new soil contamination survey and evaluation shall be conducted.
During this soil contamination assessment, every effort was made to objectively and accurately characterize the distribution of site‑specific contaminants; however, certain uncertainties remain. The managing authority should implement stringent site management practices to prevent the introduction of external pollutants that could contaminate the site.
