Embarking on a New Journey, Ushering in a New Era: The Institute’s Trade Union Successfully Concludes Its Leadership Election


On October 26, the third session of the Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau and the first session of the trade union members’ (employees’) congress of Shandong Zhonghua Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd. were successfully held, with 53 trade union member representatives in attendance.

The conference heard and approved the work report titled “Caring for Employees, Serving the Overall Situation, and Uniting and Leading the Broad Mass of Workers to Strive Forward on a New Journey of High-Quality Development,” delivered by Jia Ruifeng, Chairman of the Trade Union, on behalf of the previous Trade Union Committee. It also heard a report on the use of trade union funds. In strict accordance with the relevant regulations governing leadership transitions and elections, the conference elected, by secret ballot and through a surplus‑candidate system, the Third-term Trade Union Committee of the Shandong Geological Exploration Institute of China Chemical Geology And Mining Bureau, as well as the First-term Trade Union Committee of Shandong Sinochem Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd., together with the Trade Union Fund Review Committee and the Trade Union Women’s Committee.

The conference noted that, over the past five years, the institute’s trade union has fully fulfilled its role as a bridge and link between the Party and the workforce, closely focusing on the institute’s central tasks of reform and development. It has strengthened ideological and political guidance, safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of employees, advanced the establishment of harmonious labor relations, and energized the workforce to drive innovation and development. Under its leadership, cadres and staff have coordinated epidemic prevention and control with production and operations, thereby effectively facilitating the successful completion of all the institute’s undertakings.

The Congress calls upon the new-term Trade Union Committee, the Fund Supervision Committee, and the Women Workers’ Committee to, over the next five years, take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guiding principle; fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 17th and 18th National Congresses of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions; and, under the leadership of the Institute’s Party Committee and higher-level trade unions, and with the strong support of the Institute’s administration, further strengthen the trade union’s own development, vigorously enhance its service orientation and capacity to safeguard workers’ rights, and continuously bolster the organization’s appeal, cohesion, and combat effectiveness. It also urges advancing the enhancement of employees’ quality and capabilities, vigorously promoting the model worker spirit, the labor spirit, and the craftsman spirit, and inspiring employees to innovate and achieve greater results. Moreover, it calls for further advancing democratic management within the enterprise, mobilizing employees’ enthusiasm to participate in reform and development, and broadly rallying the vigorous forces needed to forge ahead in undertaking and accomplishing tasks. Finally, it emphasizes the importance of fully leveraging the trade union’s role as a bridge and link, taking proactive and decisive action, continuously improving employees’ sense of gain, happiness, and security, and uniting and leading the broad ranks of union members to make outstanding contributions in the new era, thus striving to ensure the high-quality, rapid development of Shandong Institute during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and to build a harmonious and beautiful Shandong Institute.
