On November 30, the Fourth Party Branch, the Party Branch of Taian Zhonghua Mingda Engineering Investigation Co., Ltd., and the Third Party Branch of the Taian Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning jointly organized a themed Party Day activity titled “Offering Sound Suggestions, Solving Difficulties, and Making New Contributions to Development,” leveraging the “Taian City Geothermal Resource Survey and Planning” project undertaken by the Taian Geological Branch (Business Unit).
At the meeting, Wu Shumeng, secretary of the Fourth Party Branch, began by outlining the project’s progress. The “Taian City Geothermal Resource Survey and Planning” project was designated as a municipal-level geological exploration initiative for 2019. Through remote-sensing geological interpretation, geothermal geological surveys, geophysical exploration, and geothermal drilling conducted across the entire Taian area, the project identified 20 geothermal anomalies, including six key anomalies, and successfully drilled one geothermal well at the Taohuayu geothermal field. Located near the Taohuayu Scenic Area, this geothermal field will leverage its resources to support priority service sectors such as ecology and leisure, helping to develop an integrated, eco‑friendly tourism zone centered on Mount Tai. This effort is expected to further boost Taian’s tourism industry and deliver significant economic and social benefits.
Subsequently, the three Party branches held a symposium on integrating Party building with the geothermal project. In recent years, both national and local authorities have successively introduced a series of policies to promote the development of green and clean energy. The Taohuayu geothermal field, located adjacent to the Mount Tai Scenic Area, enjoys a unique geographical advantage. Participants agreed that the next step should be to align with policy guidance and intensify the exploration, development, and utilization of geothermal resources.

Finally, all Party members conducted an on-site visit to the Taohuayu geothermal well and, in accordance with the “Green Geological Exploration Work Standards,” inspected the well‑capping and site‑restoration measures.

This joint thematic Party‑day activity, anchored in specific projects and conducted through on-site study and exchange, not only deepened the implementation of the thematic education campaign—encouraging Party members to contribute in their respective roles and offer constructive suggestions to advance development—but also effectively fostered exchanges in Party building and work between our institute and the competent department of natural resources.
