To mark the nation’s 23rd “Work Safety Month” and enhance employees’ safety awareness and evacuation capabilities, in accordance with the institute’s overall plan for the 2024 “Work Safety Month” activities, our institute organized fire safety training and drills on June 24 and 25 at its Jinan office campus and Jinan regional base, respectively. Employees of the institute, as well as personnel renting premises from our organization, participated in the training and drills.
On June 24, the Jinan office area held a fire safety training session. Participants engaged in a focused study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on workplace safety, reviewed the latest case analyses from the three-year campaign to address root causes and tackle key challenges in workplace safety, and took part in awareness-raising activities and drills aimed at keeping emergency escape routes clear. The session also provided detailed, practical guidance on emergency evacuation procedures for both organizations and individuals in the event of fires or other catastrophic incidents, key strategies for high-rise building escapes and self-rescue techniques, as well as critical fire prevention measures, common fire‑prevention challenges, and difficulties in firefighting.
Following the training, a fire evacuation drill was conducted at the Jinan office campus. The exercise realistically simulated the high‑concentration smoke conditions typical of a real fire scene. Under the leadership of Party Secretary and President Wang Qingfeng, our staff followed the instructors’ guidance to evacuate via the central staircase of the office building, replicating an emergency escape from a simulated fire. Throughout the drill, participants gained hands‑on experience in navigating a fire‑affected environment, learning and mastering practical techniques for smoke protection and safe, non‑crowded evacuation under dense smoke.
On June 25, the Jinan District base conducted a fire‑extinguishing drill. Through hands‑on practice, employees gained a deeper understanding of fire extinguishers’ performance and basic operating procedures, and mastered essential safety skills for tackling incipient fires.
This event adopted a teaching approach that combined theory with hands-on practice, emphasizing attention to detail and practical application. As a result, employees gained a clear, firsthand understanding of safety principles and enhanced their abilities in fire self-rescue, mutual assistance, and evacuation, yielding significant training outcomes.
