To advance innovation in geological mineral exploration technologies and foster synergistic industrial development, Jiao Sen, a member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of the Bureau (Group) responsible for the Party and administrative affairs of the Shandong Institute, recently led a delegation to Da Xibei Mining Co., Ltd. (Beijing) for technical exchanges and strategic cooperation discussions. The two sides engaged in in-depth deliberations on the application of AI‑driven digital exploration technologies and the innovation of collaborative models, with the aim of leveraging new technologies and methodologies to promote efficient mineral resource exploration.
At the symposium, a representative from Northwest Mining Co., Ltd. shared practical experience in geological mineral exploration using Deep-Explor® targeted nuclear magnetic resonance AI technology and on-site AI‑driven virtual drilling detection. This technology employs highly sensitive methods to capture electromagnetic emissions from each element using remote-sensing satellite imagery, enabling non‑intrusive, remote interpretation to delineate prospective mineralization targets. Combined with field‑based profile measurements, it provides a solid basis for planning and deploying exploration programs.
Jiao Sen highlighted the substantial achievements of the Bureau (Group) and Shandong Institute in domestic and international geological exploration projects in recent years. In particular, guided by a three‑pronged strategy—prospecting for minerals, securing mineral rights, and developing the mining sector—the two entities have actively expanded their operations across Xinjiang and numerous overseas regions, yielding remarkable results. He proposed that the two sides could launch pilot collaborations at a fluorite mine in Xinjiang, two gold mines in Shandong and Gansu, and in hydrogen‑related mineral exploration, jointly exploring the potential applications of new technologies across diverse mineral types and geographic areas, thereby injecting fresh momentum into resource exploration.
To further forge a new chapter of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, our side meticulously prepared and presented a range of highly operational, market‑oriented cooperation models, which resonated strongly with Da Xibei Mining Co., Ltd. and elicited an enthusiastic response. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on these collaboration frameworks and reached a high degree of consensus. During the exchange, both sides came to a profound realization: as the challenges of mineral resource exploration continue to mount, it has become imperative to integrate traditional geological practices with cutting‑edge intelligent and digital technologies. This is not merely a technological upgrade; it is an essential step to address industry‑wide challenges and achieve sustainable development. This dialogue was more than a technical exchange—it represented a deep convergence of development philosophies, laying a solid foundation for the two sides to deepen their partnership.
